    Resident Moomba Guy here

I guess it depends on how much you want to spend and what you expect for your money. $53K for a loaded Mobius LSV is on the steep side, at least around here. I got my '07 with every option available including the appearance pkg, heater, wakeplate, gravity III ballast and aftermarket tower speakers, amps and dual batteries for $36,900 back in April with a tandem boatmate trailer. The only things i didn't get was PP (want Stargazer, not pro), cargo bimini (didn't want it as the tower comes down to put boat away) and the Moomba (Roswell/Kicker) tower speakers (weak).

Sure there are concessions at that price point. No you don't get a swivel captains chair or swivel racks, hasn't bothered me though. And while the freeboard is a bit less than some boats it sure hasn't been an issue for anyone on our boat so far. And before anyone says it, we have little kids on the boat all the time and nobody's fallen out yet

The LSV with the Gravity III ballast (1200lbs.) / wakeplate combo the wake is very nice, big and firm. I upped it by pulling the 400lb. rear bags and and replaced them with 750lb. bags for a total of 1900lbs total including 400lbs up front. Extremely big wake and surf wake now! The lack of ballast gauges hasn't bothered me one bit, when it dumps then shut it off. For '09 the pumps have been totally reworked i hear and are faster. The nice thing about bags is that you don't loose space permantly like hard tanks and the Fly High Extreme bags are extremely durable. Here's the wake with no ballast, just the plate @ 18-19mph.

The Indmar Marine motors are durable and reliable with gobs of power. Add that to the optional 14.25x14 OJ wakeboard prop and i have no problem pulling up the largest of riders quickly even with 8-10 peeps on board. Another nice benefit is the Moomba gets pretty good mileage, i've done as good as 5gph with it so far trimmed out correctly using the wakeplate.

For the record we wanted a Tigé. The Z1 wasn't cutting it for me, felt small imo and i didn't like the looks. I've always liked the 22ve but at Tigés prices saving 20K was just too good to pass up. I didn't want a huge payment on a boat so we put that savings down on the boat and our payments are way less than $200, double 'em up and it's payed for in a couple years. The LSV might not take heavy chop quite as well as others but it is a well made and comfortable boat that does what it is made to very well and it has loads of storage. It handles extremely well, very nimble and holds it's lines. So that's my opinion on the boat after putting 45 hours on it so far. We've had no issues and we're pretty happy with it. My , take it for what it's worth.

you have asked some great questions .
We just sold our Larson 180 sport 18'4.3 to make the move to a V Drive for both kids 12 & 14. any info you get @ the dealer LMK The Calagry Tige (Hyperactive) did not have any 2009 info or the Moomba Dealer.
Right now we have decided on ether the Tige 20v or the Outback V both 2009 models. we have a limit on the lenght for us so 20' max.
When you sea trial the Outback V, make sure they put the bimini up for you, and test drive it before the Tige and you will see what I mean. When you sit in these 2 boats, take note of the angle your knees are at, in relation to you hips. In the Moomba, they will be about 10-15 deg above and at a comfortable, near 0deg angle, in the Tige. Note the height of the seat backs.

I don't know that you would be happy with the Outback V, the seats are really close to the floor. The quality on the 20V is a notch up for sure from what I have seen. I'm currently battling a a boat length issue myself but the wider beam on the Z1 make sense. But then again the 22VE is only a foot longer and just 4" wider and this is where I start to struggle. At some point you have to say enough is enough. I probably could have driven more boats this summer but the wife did not get on board :>) with this until later in the season. At least now she is totally for it, I couldn't believe it when she brought it up.

I drove both the 22ve and Z1. Bought the ve because my wife had to have the color. She made the right choice.
