I don't know he might not buy a TIGE if the TIGE boys do not get in touch with him. He wants to see the one that is on tour before he makes any decision. But if they wait to long he may purchase a boat for the local MC dealer in St. George which would make it easy for him to get his service work and such. I know he has been looking at them quit hard.
Matt talked to Ben, and it appears that they left the nice Tige demo boat in Sacramento. Matt said he will do about everything possible to get it down in time for the reunion.
MC is definitely out of my future. As I said before, I am going to be sure Tige is my future this time. The RZ2 is the frontrunner, but this time I am going to look around. Last time, I sold my boat, Matt told me he had 3 coming in, one of them was red and I said I will take it. No hassles. This time we'll see if I can make him sweat a little.
So I go to the MC dealer on Saturday here in St. George. I have been behind and X-45 and did not care much for the wakeboarding wake. It had a huge inner ramp, and a very narrow landing zone, so it seems that coming up short was brutal and it was easy to hit the flats. X-star is too small and too rough. So the X-35 intrigues me, but there is little experience with the wake since it is a new model. The dealer has a silver metal flake and marroon one that is just gorgeous. I am a sucker for that metal flake, I wish I could wakeboard behind one of those ranger bass boats. Anyway, I ask them for a test drive and let them know I just sold my boat and have $$$ burning holes in my pocket and I would like to get a new boat before it gets cold.
The manager, who is the only one there, says a test drive would be great. I let him know that I will have myself, one of my family doctor partners, 2 orthopedic surgeons an an ER doc coming along (combined income of about 2 million per year). The ER doc will be buying ASAP and one of the orthopedic surgeons is likely going to buy soon as well. He contacts the 'demo guys' (whoever that is), in Las Vegas and says that we can do the demo IF I give a $1000 deposit, sign a purchase agreement stating that the boat will be purchased if the demo meets my standards, and only one guy gets to ride behind the boat.
I told him that if I cannot sleep on it and finish my test drives with other manufacturers then I refuse. I let him know clearly that I am not the sorry arsed guy who comes in with money falling out of his pockets who just wants an MC and an MC only. I am going to test drive the Tige RZ2, and likely a couple of others. They said sorry and let me go. They feed me some serious BS about how they want to have boat buyers know that the boat they are buying is brand new and not demo'd.
I don't care if the dealer has taken a few rides with my boat when I buy it, in fact there are likely to be a few small fixes that need to happen in the first few hours, and it would be nice to have those out of the way.
I feel treated pretty poorly after that exchange. I am not some duchebag looking for a free ride. Seeing the wake in real life and driving the boat in person is something that a serious boat buyer has to do. They obviously don't want any serious lookers. MC is off the list.
I am about to post this on Wakeworld, so let's see the sparks fly.

This must be straight out of the MC dealers sales book, I've heard this same thing from others.

That's
It's almost like they know if you leave and try other boats, you're not coming back. Those sales tactics are right out of the Kirby Vacuum Cleaner manual. That's the only way they get all those people to buy the expensive boats. I know what you mean about the X-Star wake...if you don't have it loaded for bear, it's not very pretty. If you do have it loaded for bear, it becomes a low rider where the bow is 2"-3" above the water just waiting to scoop it into your boat.
You might like the Supra, tho...it's got a retractable pylon that you'd have a lot of fun with (especially if you got domsz06 to rig you some serious thumping subs under the seats)
BTW, I stopped by the Ski Dock last year and they had a 24Ve in there with Wet Sounds Pro 80s mounted on the tower and had the bimini up. I could walk underneath it without hitting my head. Something to be said for the "E" Tower.
Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."
If I was to get a new boat, which is not going to happen, it would be between a 24 VE and RZ2. I really want to see how the 09's perform with the in floor ballast and how much more weight they will need.
Just curious, why not the RZ4? You're old one was a 24 foot so why would you want to go shorter?
IMO, the RZ2 is probably the better deal. The RZ4 will fit 17 while the RZ2 fits 15. Paying $7,000 for more two more people does not seem like a bargain. Not to mention the RZ2 fits more than his 24V did.
When we looked at the 24Ve, we also looked at the 22Ve. Since the 24Ve was only $3000 more than the 22Ve, we went the 24Ve route. But again, we also have a big family and take friends with us.

I dont think you are paying for the capablility of more "people". You are paying for 2 more feet of boat, and some minor modifications. What im trying to say is that I dont think comparing price to the CG sticker is a good comparison. Like my boats rated for 9 but If i want 10 people want on and theres room why not let them on.....
Common Sense is not so Common
Looking for fat chicks for long walks, romance, cheap buffets, and BALLAST.
Zad, true but the standard options are the same with both models. There isn't any upgrade other than size IMO. However, I personally looked at # of ppl that would fit since the size of family and the amount of people that we would be going out with that day.
Not to mention that I don't like to be cramped either. I like to have my space.
Here is an interesting reply from wakeworld, it is from Wasatch marine in Salt Lake City. Tige_Matt, someone is trying to steal your girlfriend
quote from wakeworld:
Tall Tige Dude, you have to take me up on my offer to you. Wasatch will have a boat down there directly to give you a pull. Remember, there is a whole new TIGE world up here in Salt Lake that you need to take advantage of. Go to www.wasatchmarine.com and tell me which of my 4 2008 RZ4's or my last 2009 you would like to ride behind. We hear that Sand Hollow is nice this time of year. We just delivered a 2008 RZ4 to your neighborhood on Sunday (yesterday) to a good customer of ours. We would be happy to put out that fire in your pocket asap!
