    What a crock of BS

As many of you know i'm looking to put an after market cruise in my 06 22v. So I have been talking to my dealer and he said he would "talk to tige" and see what they would "recommend" (you can see where this is going). So I get an email back that says

    "Spencer,
I spoke with Tige' about your request they said the 'Tige Speed Set' cruise control will plug right into the existing wiring harness of your boat, which is a real plus. The cost of the add on is $1302.99 + tax and labor which should take about 2 1/2 hours. A complete aftermarket system parts and labor would cost quite a bit more. Feel free to call or email if you would like us to move forward with this or if you have any questions or other needs. Thank you for your inquiry! "

Now what a load of when I can go buy a perfect pass stargazer for less than that and zero off system for the same price!!!!!! Then the two and half hours labor would cost me 250$ hahaha. The whole point of me putting in a gps run cruise was the fact that my paddle wheel is broken. So by putting in a gps system I wouldn't have to worry about my paddle wheel getting fixed and breaking again and I would have cruise.

What everyones suggestions here? How hard would it be for me to buy a Zero Off system and do the install myself?

          Spenchey,

I talked with the people at Zero Off and that system won't work on a 2006 tige, I was checking for our 2006 24ve becuase I hate Speed Set. I don't know if PP stargazer will work but I WOULD NOT recommend Speed Set.

Are guys talking 06 Accu-Set or the 07 Speed Set that you dont like? The was a huge improvement from 06 to 07.

Other then the ability of PP Wakeboard Pro to set different riders into memory, I'll take Tige's cruise over it any day for easy of use and engaging.

Same for Zero-Off, I found it to not work any better then Tige Speed-Set.

I would probably go Stargazer, but there is no where to put the gauge with out pulling the factory speedo. If you go this route, you will lose depth, water and air temp.

Well why would I pay 1300 plus a new paddle wheel plus labor at 120 per hour for both. When i could just but a stargazer system and pay 1300 flat and do the install myself. Can someone tell me how hard it would be for me to do the install myself? On the PP web site it says you can still get depth and water/air temp (http://www.perfectpass.com/pp_star_gazer.html) its at the bottom of the page .

I think that's only if you upgraded from a paddlewheel system that had the water temp in the airmar thru-hull.

I thought so but wanted to be sure. Some days Mau really pisses me off, there service dept. is a crock of sh!t sometimes. John Black is taking over Snow's job since he left about a month ago. Who did you e-mail. It all depends on who you talk to at that place.

I wonder how they will feel when/if they read that. I assume that you are at the point you are done with them altogether? I don't think that will make your service any better.

If you want PP you better jump on it because soon it wont be offered on your boat. And then your stuck with Zero Off which may not be compatible on Tiges or Speed Set!

I am talking 06 speed set. I wish Tige would have stepped up and at least offered the display they came out with in 07 to retrofit on the 06's. IMO they got off with a really crappy design. It is hard to set, you can't see that damn red blinking light in the middle of the day (don't most people ride and surf when it is light out?), just a horrible design. I know they fixed it but they left the 06 owners with a $1200 dollar piece of crap speed control. As you can tell I am not happy that our dealer talked us into speed set over perfect pass. Oh well.

Go with Stargazer and tell Tige to shove their crappy 2006 speed set where the sun doesn't shine!!

Good luck, if you do install PP stargazer let me know how you like it becuase I am thinking of upgrading before next spring.

Anybody want a crappy speed set from 06, the price is $1000 firm...haha

I don't mean to sound silly. But if I understand this right, you talked to your tige dealer about talking to tige about a cruise control system for your tige. Now you seem surprised and upset that the reccomendation came back to use the tige oem system not a system that tige doesn't offer.
