    How many blue plugs?

With all of the other "winter" threads I thought I would add one as well.

Should I just pull the blue plugs after each use during the winter or is there anything else I need to do?

Also, how many blue plugs are there? I counted five, 2 on the port side and 3 on the starboard side.

    I have a Mercrusier 350 Mag MPI on an 01 23V.

    Matt:

I hear that if you're one of those lucky few that keep riding throughout the year, all you have to do is pull the blue plugs and drain the water after every use in case of a hard freeze. The rest of us will just have to hear how good a time you're having!

If you're going to store it for a while, then you need to winterize. That means fogging, adding fuel stabilizer, etc, etc.

If you have a shower you have five plugs, no shower six plugs.

Saulo, Ill post some riding pictures during the December and January months for you!

Lee, should I do anything else other than pulling those five plugs. I thought I read somewhere that I had to disconnect some hoses?

Stabilize the fuel, run engine for 15 minutes, fog the engine, change oil & oil filter, change fuel water filter, drain the engine, heater and shower of the water and leave the plugs out until spring.

Oops my mistake, sorry Lee. I just re-read my original post but left out some vital info.

What I meant to say is I will be riding during the winter months. I will not plan on putting it away for the winter.

So should I just pull the blue plugs after each use?

That shoud be fine, add some fuel stabilizer anyway. Gas will start to break down in about sixty days.

Ok just pulled them today and I am still only counting five.

2 on the port side and 3 on the starboard side.

Is there one out of plain view?

                    Hey Matt,

I think we have the same boat, so I'll have a look this weekend and let you know. I seem to remember the left and right sides have an equal number of plugs (3 each). The Merc manual sort of shows where they are - although it's tough to find a few. Stand on your head - you might find another one!

If you look at the big hose coming off the top of the engine on the port side toward the stern, it will make a curve downward and the blue plug should be in the bottom of that curve.

Thanks Lee. Its hard for me to tell since the back of the engine is way up against the stern.

No need to look now Scott, thanks though.

I took the picture of the inline engine just to get a picture.
