    2003 22v riders loosing power

Just last weekend my newly purchased 22v started aciting up. After about an hour of riding around it beeped twice and a little bit later just died. I turned the key off and it started right up. The voltage looked to be at 12 or lower. I know the EFI needs 12 volts to run. I replaced the alt and the same thing happed. PLEASE I need help. I love the boat but I'm about to pull my hair out!!!

You'll need to take it to an authorized Mercruiser dealer to have them read the codes. Mine did this, but kept going. It turned out to be a bad fuel pressure regulator. Eventually it would have stopped altogether. If you have gas with ethanol in it, it makes this part go bad more quickly.

Without the codes, you'll be guessing.

Thanks, I'll be taking it this week. Just thought I could get away with fixing it myself!!

It could also be your alternator or battery. I'd check both before taking them in. I had to replace mine a couple of years ago. I never had any beeping, though.

I put a brand new alternator on it, checked both batteries. I took it out this weekend and crossed my fingers. No luck though. It ran fine for about an hour. Then started messing up again. Same problem, only this time I went to pull my kids on a tube and starting off it sounded like it was only running on 4 cylinders. It was cutting out real bad. Long story short I left it at the dealers when we got off the lake!

            Sounds like some other problem.

Sounds like you have a fuel issue going on with the fuel system. Your charging systems should be putting out 13.5V or better thought to maintain that battery.
