New boat

Well new to me. We just purchased a 98Tige 2100wi. I'm sure I will have alot more questions from some of the seasoned owners. I want to thank anybody who responds or who offers advice. The previous owner said he never put in the rear plug. He said none of the water came in the boat that he could see. Do I put the pug in when the boat is in the water? This boat will be trailered to the lake. Also he removed the five plugs for water drainage from engine. He said he keeps them out and does not put in antifreeze. I have owned a IO before and put some antifreeze in and put the plugs back in. Any advice on this will be appreciated. It also has the shower any way to make sure it is drained? It has the heater in it bypassed because a hole in the core. I won't look at this problem till spring but I'm guessing he left water in it. What is the best way to drain ?

Just want to make sure we are on the same page but are you referring to the plug in the rear hull of the boat? If so, YES put the plug in when its in the water. That's strange that he left that out, how did his boat manage not to sink? I sometimes take mine out at the end of the day but always put it back in before launching.

The owner emailed me and said that rear plug was in. I guess the his friend took the rear plug out. Do I take out both plugs every time I use the boat?

Does anybody have the shower or heater? Could you tell me what you do to winterize?

Congrats on your new boat. There's a whole thread on what people do to winterize their boat. It's in the Maintenance and Care section. It's titled winterizing. I found it informative, though I let my dealer take care of it.

I've been told that adding antifreeze in the engine block helps, as it has rustproof additives to keep the block from rusting in the inside.

I didn't realize there was a maitenance section. Thanks alot I also noticed it is a 2100i WT. I don't know what the WT stands for.

I was wondering the best way to winterize the heater and the shower system.
I just got the boat home today. I blew some compressed air
in the line of both. The heater was bypassed. I assume water stayed in there from the previous owner and it now has a leak. I pulled the core out it does have two holes not easily to see exactly where. I will try to find a new core price. Then I will see how much a repair would cost.

There was still water in both systems even though the owner said it was ready for winter.

I do not have a shower in my boat so I can't help you with that. I am sure someone on here can help you out with that.
I disconnect the hoses on the heater and drain the water out of them and the heater. I learned the hard way the first year when it froze and I had to get new guts for the heater because it cracked.

From the manufacturer. I called them and they helped me out. Their name was written on the heater.
