Does anyone have any opinions on the Z1? I am thinking of buying one and was wanting to know the good, bad, and ugly. How would it compare to a 22ve?

What do you want out of a boat? Use the search button as well, there are a ton of threads over the past number of months in regards to the Z1.
I've spent a little time behind the wheel and behind the boat surfing. I gotta say that the Z1 throw one hell of a surf wake with only a little ballast added. I was able to surf with zero, that's correct, zero ballast, only wife driving and son taking pics. When I filled the bow sac, factory port tank, and through a 400#'er on top, the wake was impressive. The only 2 negatives I have found are s little porpoise above 30mph (add a little weight up front and it's gone) and the Dutch-door engine/storage doors. I would like to see a 3 door setup, but that cost money and defeats the goal of the Z1.......to be a solid, well built, serious tow boat at an entry level price.
The best thing to do is to test drive all the boats that you are interested in, in the manor that you would use them. If you're gonna surf, bring the board, wakeboard, ski, family, etc. You need to find which boat is going to fill you needs the best.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Z1 here. I have owened one for 1 month now. I have 20 hrs on it and love it. Still playing with the TAPS to know what works for different rides weight. Family of 5 and we all wake baord and wake surf! We run the TAPS at all different settings based on water conditions and rider comfort level. The boat does great with no ballast even though we usually have 5 passengers in the boat. (Wake boarding 18 mph TAPS at 4) (Wake surfing 10 mph TAPS at 4-8 based on riders weight)
No complaints from me except the glove box cover is made a bit inexpensive. I wish they would have made it out of fiberglass/gellcoat vs plastic).
Good luckNick
