It seems to me like the bimini would get in the way of the rope when pulling from the tower, or at least the rope would rub against the extended part of it. Do you have any problems with that?

It doesn't seem to get in the way. The rope is above the bimini, and it may rub a little (I haven't had a chance to really see yet, because so far I am either driving or boarding at the time). Time will tell if rubbing the top of the fabric is an issue.
hehehe... i still have a stereo install to (prolly) pay for, an fae system that I really want, winterizing costs and Jods B just bought me a Nkon D80 for my b-day....

Nope, my buddy's Malibu has the exact same extended bimini and it doesn't rub at all at wakeboarding speeds.

Duncan - here are a few of the bimini with extension. It all connects to the Alpha Z tower up around the bimini level, with no straps or rods that come down. Very clean and out of the way. Also, my dealer fixed our problem of the extension zipper coming undone by installing a snap that holds the zipper in place. Simple and works great.
Thanks for the great exterior bimini extension shots!
