WOW. Nice job LovinPowell. That is a tight fit.

I think by looking at yours I could make mine level. In my picture I have that center support for the platform and I made my clearance about 1". I just added a nut at the bottom of my SS tubes. I didn't know how much vibration the platform has or the FAE unit and I didn't want the FAE hitting the support rail. Larry gave me about 1/2" clearance from my tab plate to the down tube. I rotated my inside band clamps up to give me about an 1" clearance now and I don't ever plan on touching them again anyway. I can tighten all my clamps where I have them now and you still can see them except the 4 clamps that holds the FAE to the exhaust itself.

To remove all I have to do is take out 6 lag screws and loosen 4 band clamp so I made the band clamps easy to access. I'll try and get a pic of mine from the side.

I wouldn't worry about the vibration. I've had mine 3 years and it's still rock solid.

I will post a picture of mine installed 2 weeks ago, but it is so quite that you can have a convesation with someone in the back seat w/out yelling or looking at them. It is amazing. The stereo sounds so much cleaner but not really any louder. Some have said that they have noticed that the engine is loud but I did not have that impression. One of the best upgrades so far, especially for the price.

Here is my side shot of the FAE w/ slight angle down. I showed the screw heads that I was asking about, I don't feel like having them this way it will hurt. Does anyone else?
            Thanks

I think that's smart. I did the same thing.

Somewhere between 3/4" to 1". It was close until I rotated the screw head up a little bit. After doing this now I can also loosen and tighten all the screw heads w/ a socket w/out a problem. Now after seeing yours it has plenty of room.

I will probably invest into a 90° drill or air wrench to install and remove the inside lag bolts w/out removing the taps plate anymore. I really don't like messing w/ plastic threads.

I must say the way they did the corners to hold the FAE on w/ the all thread is pretty cool. Great design.
