There is some info on other threads about the new ballast system, but here is the deal: There are 3 inch holes in the transom of the boat that go into an enclosed portion of the hull. You hit a button, and the gate valve opens and within 30 seconds, you have 400 pounds or more in that part of your hull. To empty, you open the valve and drive away, just close the valve before you come off of plane or it will refill as soon as you stop. I think it deserves a lot of hype. It can all be under the floor.
If it lives up to its billing, I think this is the single greatest thing for Tige in recent years, with the PCM upgrade a close second.

Polk, exactly where are your tanks? Behind the interior transom wall, or under the floor of the storage areas?Be excellent to one another.

Any ideas on when the new ballast system is rolling out? Any official info sources on whether the transom-fill ballast system is actually slated for 09?
