Recognizing that everyone's experience can be different, I would like to add that I have been nothing but impressed with everyone at State-a-Mind, Andrew especially. I have also spoken to several people in the area about the dealership, as well as exchanged PMs with a few TO's here--and the comments were favorable.

Bummer to hear about a tough situation probably made worse by imperfect information. Hope it all works out and your boat gets fixed up.

We had an ok experience with Stateamind before this....some things could have gone a little better but no major complaints. I just don't really understand how he could tell me that I needed the whole unit when in fact that is not the case. So the all dealers are liars comment wasn't quite in line, so sorry for that.

Having said all that, and not to flame ANYONE...

If the paddle wheel is an issue, which it seems to be based on the number of respondants who have replaced theirs, why wouldn't Tige inform their dealers to carry the paddle wheel replacememt kit at $25 rather than charge $100 plus for the entire unit??? Seems that would buy a ton of customer appreciation in the long run. Just my worth.

The other possibility is the paddle housing is well and truly smashed all to h&!! and it is not enough to just replace the paddle.

Are there pics of the damage available?

I can tell you this, there is only 1 paddle of the paddle wheel broken off, there is not damage to the housing. The only thing I can even think that happened is when people piled if sunk the boat down enought that my lift bunk came up and hit the wheel. There is no other way for the wheel to get hit with the lift bunk except when the lift is down and the boat has the ability to move around in the slip. Unfortunate for sure. Had this boat on the lift for over 2 years with no problems.

I agree with Sambo's comment 100%. I just refused delivery of the package today so we'll see how it gets handled once they get it back. It also only took Lee 1 day to ship the paddle wheel to me and it cost $25 compared to 2 weeks and me having to call them to see what was going on when they lost my address.

I will be perpetually worried about my paddle wheel as the boat will be stored on a rack and fork lifted in and out of the water. Ah well, the amount of savings over a slip will pay for a lot of paddle wheels.

                        If you don't call Stateamind

Keep in mind that most Tige dealers are just that, dealers. This means they don't work for Tige and in most cases carry other lines of boats. The only thing Tige can do is threaten to pull their dealership, which is a pretty drastic move.

akdoc's beef is with his dealer. I think he went a bit over the top when he extrapolated his experience to all dealers.

Based on what I've read on this site, most dealers are pretty good and do their best to do right by the customer. I'm not sure how you'd survive in the boat dealer business if you didn't. There's a few of dealers active on this forum and they really do contribute positively to the whole Tige owning experience.

As for akdoc, he's fessed up to his sins, so we'll let his statement slide

Well, I guess it is finally handled. My mistake for not covering my bases before talking to my dealer. I think that is the biggest dissapointment that I can't call my dealer and get the right part for a fair price. Now I just basically bought a $100 dollar paddle wheel since Stateamind is charging me for the $20 shipping and a 10% restocking fee. What a load. Oh well.

Again, thanks to Lee Tudor for shooting me straight and getting me the part in 2 days!!

Sounds like you burned your bridges with that dealership.

Glad you got it fixed, but I'm still having trouble understanding why you are blaming your dealer for ordering the only part that Tige offers to fix your boat.

Do them a favor, and share with them what you now know.
