I think I just got hosed by my dealer...help???

I need some help here. I had one of the paddles break off my speedo paddlewheel a couple weeks ago. I called my dealer and of course after a week they hadn't shipped it, they lost my address The boat is a 2006 24ve and he is telling me I have to put in a whole new assembly and route the wire back to the dash. Total charge for just the part was $470. I think I just got hosed bad....any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are being hosed. That part costs only $96 plus shipping the last time I called Gemeco, which distributes the Airmar sensor assembly.

      Check out this thread:

      PerfectPass Paddlewheel Replacement

This is definitely a DYI project.

It wasn't your dealer, but I hate to say, it was Tige. Tige does not offer the $8.00 dollar paddle wheel kit, so dealers are told it is a whole asm. Unless your dealer is in the "know" they will not have the paddle wheel kits on hand.

Yeah, that's what the Tri-ducer costs.

This is for the speed set, not perfect pass, does that matter??

That was the price they quoted me for the entire assembly. I got the paddle wheel for far less.

You have to do a lot of damage to have to replace the entire assembly. Paddlewheels are like $19 plus shipping.

Just to clarify, I'm referring to the orange-ish colored 4 blade paddle wheel on the Tige factory TriDucer.

I hate boat dealers....just called Stateamind and talked with Andrew. He acted totally dumbfounded when I told him I would refuse shipment and to just refund my money when he got the part back. BOAT DEALERS ARE ALL LIARS IN MY OPINION.

Thanks for the help. This is our second Tige dealer that we have been having problems with. About to sell the boat and go to a different brand.

I owe a big thanks to Lee Tudor for helping me out. He had the part and is shipping it to me!! Thanks Lee...nice to see some dealers employ good people that aren't out to screw the boat owners over.

I think most Tige dealers are that way. We have a couple of good ones here in Texas (Ski Dock & Texas Tige). Sounds like the dealer near Lake Brownwood's getting a decent following as well.

I owe the entire tigeowners.com community a huge apology, every thing I have posted since April 5th has been a BIG FAT LIE, as this is the date I went to work for my LYING dealer selling Tige boats.

Dude, if you wouldn't go around posting knee-jerk reactions like this, and calling all dealer liars, you may be able to build a relationship with one of them. I'll state again, I doubt your dealer's parts person knew of the paddle wheel kit as Tige doesn't offer it.

I hope your next boat you buy is used, out of warranty, and never breaks down, as you stated, all dealers are liars
