Just to close the loop on the towers. This is the POS Metcraft (should it really have the word "craft" in it?) tower from 2001. My "H" brace failed while still under warranty and I had it fixed. Having said that, besides be a rattle trap and shaking like a dog s#!tt!#g razor blades it hasn't broken again.

BTW, I DO NOT still have those Clarion tower speakers! They were as crappy as the tower. Replaced them with the new Wet Sounds Pro80s. As far as speakers go, they are awesome. I also replaced the interior speakers with Wet Sounds. Now, if only my home stereo sounded so good! Definite recommendation if you're looking for new speakers.

I had the Metcrap and replaced with an Xplosion tower. The 23V is a great boat and handles our 5 kids and friends easily. Very good on rough water, great surf wake, good wakeboard wake, and very ski-able.

We got a 2001 23V (w/ 150 hrs) last year and just love it...We typically have around 10 adults when we are just going to tie up and float and as many as 13 once. We always find enough dry storage for everyone and there's plenty of seating. The hugh V drive lockers let us keep our gear on board. This boat will offer plenty of room for your family.

I don't know how much the Natique weighs - but if you are going to trailer the boat, you might want to check into that. My F150 crew cab will pull it - just not very well. We keep it on a lift at the lake, so it really doesn't matter for us. I originally tried to lift it on a 4K lb hoist and it couldn't quite lift it all the way -so I had to upgrade to a 6k lb hoist.

What condition are the seats in? We had to have all of the rear seats vinyl recovered (about $500) - The vinyl splitting at the seams is a pretty common issue from what I have gathered.

Our boat now has about 450 hours and has been rock solid. The starter going out has been about the only thing that falls outside of regular maintainence and that wasn't too bad to replace on our own.

Have you driven both boats? 9K sure does buy a bunch of gas

One thing I did when I recovered my seats was to remove the seams down the middle of the seat bottoms. I also put gator grip on my V-Drive cover so when people are getting in and out of the boat, I remove the center of the rear seat and ask them to step down there.

We love our '01 23v. It's solid, comfortable, and has tons of storage. The wake more than adequate. We also slalom and it pulls great.
60 hours is pretty low - where are you reading this number? I think the perfect pass hours can be reset, so I wouldn't rely on it. The multi-function display thingy has an hours display and should be more reliable. Either way, you should have someone go through it. Change the impeller and check the steering wheel can be turned with one finger while the boat is stationary. If you have to grip it to turn it the steering cable needs to be replaced.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be

We have an '03 23V, it was the last of the 23V line and I think it was technically referred to as a 2300 V - other folks know the significance of the 00 appendage.

It throws a good wakeboard wake in standard trim, we add 250 fat buddies on either side of the engine for a stellar wakeboard wake. Slalom wake is fun IF you are inside the boat watching We have a friend that used to competitively slalom and she can boost a few feet of air and launch a good 30 feet across. The crashes are spectacular!

Wakesurf wake, is probably a bit short lengthwise in usable pocket, but it's good enough that I won't switch boats as I haven't seen anything better. The wake is also good on both sides, something that many boats can't boast of.

                    Picture below, I hope.

It has tons of storage, very wide, and I'd consider it a pretty family friendly boat. On my tower, the wakeboard racks were attached with a single 1/4 bolt. They promptly fell off the first time out. Damaging the gelcoat and almost hitting a passenger. The rest of my tower is pretty solid.

My seats are riddled with cracks, rips and tears. Every Tige I have seen has that issue. Literally, everything else is above average.
