    Rollbar boat bashing

I sometime lurk around on, The look at me going fast to nowhere boat forums, and what I have found is, these people are not very fond of pull boats, well my feeling are, at least we are doing something with are boats by putting someone behind us to entertain us and the people on shore,I mean all I ever see them doing is going very fast, burning hugh amounts of fuel to go nowhere, I mean put a skier behind them and get something out of it. ( Just venting)

I am freaking astounded at the noise those retarded boats make. You hear them from miles away and there is no way in @##%$$ that you could get behind one of them. Why the heck do they have the exhaust ports 3 feet above the water line. They put any stereo system to shame.
    Be excellent to one another.

They probably see us surf, and wonder what the hell we are doing all sitting on one side, and listing the boat over? Why would they weight a boat down, and risk swamping?

Its recreation, if you enjoy doing it, and you can afford it, and your not hurting anybody else, cool. Its not my thing, but neither is tubing that much. Many people on here would say the same thing about how stupid tubing is.

As long as we have a place to surf, I am fine.

They have just as much of a right to be on the water as you do.

I agree. It's like the fisherman. Just be understanding of their sport and hope for the same back.

i sort of agree, it does seem a little useless, but its just another form of motorsport i gues. i enjoy driving my car, just to enjoy the drive (although fuel these days makes it a little less enjoyable) and those guys get as rush out of the speed if their machine.

i suppose throwing skiers out the back is pretty much ski racing

some of the ski boats over here have ludacristly powerfull engines such as twin turbo big blocks, and there not small turbos either!!! you can hear those things from the cente of town!!!

There are a few fisherman on oroville that would probably shoot me if they saw me in town. Its pretty funny seeing what a surfwake will do to a 14 foot boat. ;-)

You know that you are responsible for your own wake. It's kinda fun to be responsible for a site like that!

When i had my baja i loved blasting across the water with the pipes open and liked to watch everyone stare, occasionally a finger from a fisherman, but usually thumbs up from onlookers. I think that it is easy to understand wanting to go fast, and be as loud as you can be, many of us have enough money in stereo systems in our cars, trucks and boats to put a master bedroom addition on our houses, but we like the stereo and dont mind spending money on it, myself i love the sound of a big block chevy and especially the way the sound bounces off the lake when idling, its all about what you like and how you have fun, one sport is just as spendy as the next.

In the abstract, relative freedom decreases with increased danger to those surrounding you. So a fastboat would have relatively less freedom than a pull boat, just as a pull boat would have relatively less freedom than a (stationary) fishing boat. After all, would you get so close with your wake as to swamp a fishing boat? While part of this is etiquette, another part is safety. Swamp a fishing boat and if somebody gets hurt/killed, you are suddenly subject to the hard eye of scrutiny on your actions leading to the accident. The issues are obviously magnified with a fastboat. So I do not think "rights" are completely equal on water. I do agree people generally have equal right of access. But the scope of activity once you are on the water is necessarily restricted.

Dont get me wrong, I love boating, does not matter, what kind of boating, as long as Iam on the water, fast boats , pullboats, fishing boats, they are all great fun, the problem is when I am lurking around on other sites such as riverdaves place or perfomance boats etc etc, most of their members, do not like pull boats, period. I dont know what it is, they just want nothing to do with us. I feel we are all in this community together, lets all just have fun and take care of one another.
