    Good Deal?..Information Needed

    Hey Fellas,

I have a 97 2100wt and I'm looking to step up to a newer model. I have always loved my tige but I was wondering about NONBIASED comparisons as far as ride in rough water, noise, waves over the bow, wake shape, size, etc... as far as Tige 24v, mastercraft X30, centurion avalanche , correct craft, malibu

I have an opportunity to buy a 2004 24v with low hours for around 42000. I have not seen the boat yet but hear it has everything...premium sound, tower speakers, ballast, satellite radio, bimini. I believe it has the Mercruiser 5.7.

This is obviously a good chuck of cash so any infomation will be appreciated. I have heard everything from all the dealers and can pretty much place that info in the B.S. file. I would like to hear from all you guys who are in the trenches every day (or hopefully every day) Obviously this is a tige forum so there will be some bias but any information will be greatly appreciated for this purchase.

I will post some picks when available..

    Thanks

I bought my 2003 22v a year ago for its enormous storage, great looks, price, and a great dealer who waited over 6 years to sell me one, always being there, answering questions and not once - ever - putting undue pressure on me to buy a boat from them.

I think Tige's are a great boat. In the marina where I keep mine, there are Mastercrafts, Malibus, Supras, Correct Crafts and others. I've talked to many owners of these boats and I can tell you that everyone of them seems really happy with their boat. Some of them seem to be more brand loyal than others and will tell you that theirs is the better boat - even when the comparison is uninvited.

You're always going to have people who praise their boats as the ultimate riding machine and everything else is junk. Additionally you're always going to find people who are rather displeased with a product they have purchased and will trash that product throughout internet boards like this one, wakeboard.com, etc.

I think overall quality of a Tige is very good. My boat has held quite well after a year of use (about 70 hours). The transmission went out toward the end of summer, but that's not really Tige's fault. That was a Mercruiser issue. Our dealer took the boat and had us back in the water about 1 1/2 weeks later. I was a little dissapointed it took so long, but they're a small shop and they were quite busy this summer.

I believe that Tige is just as good as any other major brand of boat out there. If you can believe that, then it becomes easier to compare apples to apples and always arrive to the co$t i$$ue. Just like a good accountant would

There is no way to compare your '97 to the new 24V- completely different boats. Something like water over the bow won't be an issue. The 24V will have the most storage and best ride of all the boats you mentioned. Fit, finish, and quality will be on par with some minor differences and personal preferences between them.

The price sounds awsome, but I think that it needs more than the 5.7, especially if you are going to weight it down at all. Check to see if it doesn't have the 6.0.
