    Cathy Williams coming to town

The local Tige' dealer is bringing Cathy Williams to town tomorrow 8/12 for a demo / clinic.

I am supplying the location, the dealer is supplying the boat (z1), Subway will supply the food, our wakeboard club (Wakn'up) got USA Waterski sanctioning, and Cathy will provide some coaching.

The only bummer is the lack of turn out for registration for this event. I've got 4 kids signed up for the entire day . I guess the kids will get a lot longer to ride .

    Hopefully the weather stays clear.

Sorry to hear the poor turnout. My dealer had Nick and Sonja Weinacker come in and we only 5 or 6 in our class and I think he was hoping for a minimum of 10. Those 4 kids will learn a LOT though!

If anyone ever gets a chance to ride with the Tige Pros, it's definitely worth dropping whatever it is you had planned for that day to do it. We got to ride with Erik Ruck, Nick Weinacker and Chris Bischoff back in 2003. Those guys are all really great and we had so much fun. I learned a lot about boat driving and wakeboarding. I use these lessons every time I'm out on the boat!

You can always post it up over on WakeWorld too - someone over there may be interested.

We really didn't have much time to promote the event. The dealership did some radio and newspaper advertising but no response I won't have really any cost in it... too bad the dealer will have a big bill.

I have recently become President for Action Sports Ministries, a non-profit, 501c3 organization that helps underprivelaged or at risk youth get involved in action sports like wakeboarding, snowboarding, etc. So we were hoping to donate some $ to get kids to the clinic but it just didn't happen this time.

I'll enjoy the day either way!

Our (Texas) INT Coordinator does something similar.

Cathy does a great job on coaching. Our local schools just started back here this week which is why I have to get her in June & July.I usually have Cathy at the boatshow and start my email list then for summer clinics, I just have six people for the whole day in my clinics.Maybe you can set up at their boatshow this year and pass out info on your org.

Well, as of 10 p.m. Monday evening we had 5 kids signed up. Tuesday morning came and we had about 9 kids! Too many, I guess, but it was a good time. The weather started out with light rain and dark clouds, then cleared up to completely sunny day.

Cathy really did a great job of coaching the kids. I think the kids really took to her instruction well and by having our summer coaches out with us for the day, I think we learned some valuable tips as well.

We'd definately do it again. A little more up front planning next time.
