Why do the kids gripe about Foam in top the wake?

Our new 22i cuts a really good, usually very clean wake.

A little tuning of the TAPS,, perhaps move someone to another seat, tickel the speed a tad,,, and it'll clean up the wake.

Why do the kids gripe about foam?

I ask them,, no reply other than "I like it better with out".
Seems a a BFD with the smaller lighter girls.

My son tells me that the foam is on the lip of the ramp (wake) and it takes away the "pop" for jumping.

Bingo. The less wash, the firmer the shape and the easier it is to get more pop.

More "pop?" Who the heck wants more "pop." I get any more pop and it's gonna be my fragile, old bones doing the popping

        But I suck.
I always get the wash on the starboard side--port is picture perfect every time.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Sounds like the driver is a little light in the shorts, add some more weight to the starboard side.

x3. You need to clean up the wake. I often have to move people around and play with the TAPS to get it just right. My reward is a big smile.

well my main reason for not liking the foam is that it can slow down the board as you leave the wake and screw you all up and upon landing it can make you catch an edge
              Everything happens for a reason

I don't think its foam,I would call it wash(Water mixed with air)Which is not as dense as water and acts like a sponge.

Moving the ice chest to the light (or washed) side.
Installing a backup battery on the light side
(or left over free weights or tool bag with prop)

Tell them how to fix it and let them move on their own.
Mine told me she wouldn't go boating with me unless I bought a Tige
(Inferred she would have more fun)

i find its either an indicator of speed (if ur going too slow the wake will crumble) or unbalance in the boat (the weighed down side will have a nice clean face and the higher side will tend to crumble).

many a time i have tried to hit the crumbling wake hard, and got smashed as it didnt "pop" me high enough. usually adding a bit of speed will clean it up.

                      Good takes, great descriptions.
                      Thanks.

my 22 ve seems overly sensitive to doing the same thing. and I always thought it would be cool to have a ballast transfer pump and 2 small tanks with about 150 # to move from side to side and quit bugging the passengers.

We had a awefull Sea Doo Speedster Wake and the one and only plus was the built in ballast system.
A big, thick tupperwear tank in the lower bildge with a superfast pump to fill and empty.
It's all the boat had going for it.

Oh brother what a pos that boat was otherwise.

Just goes to show that it's not the size of your ballast that counts.

My buddy bought one of those Sea Doos and HATES it. He will be in a Tige before too long!!

As far as the wash goes, I agree that a lil more throttle and a TAPS adjustment is usually all you need to clean it up.
