    Wakesurfing 101

I know how serious some of you guys on this forum are about the surfwake and felt like you guys deserved to see this.A buddy of mine that collects surfboards and old mags among other things was kind enough to let me borrow this.
Sorry I couldn't scan it because I didn't want to crease the binding.
    Enjoy,circa june 1964

No, it's actually the new Malibu. I heard they are nervous, because they think Tige is going to copy them.

I would like to add part of the article for you.

BOAT WAKE SURFING!!THE DUKE LED THE WAY.
while boat surfing explodes into great popularity all over the country this summer we would like to prove that there is really nothing new under the sun.Exactly sixty years ago Duke kahanamoku of Hawaii, the man who first introduced wave riding to the U.S.Put on a boat wave surfing demonstration in coronada bay,San Diego.Quite a bit of intrest was shown, but the heavy unwieldy boards of that day prevented the sport from becoming very popular.

That would place wakesurfing at 1904 invented by a Hawaii native.

Here is a picture of my daughter and son-in-law, with the father of wakesurfing, the Duke himself.
