So I have been working on getting a long board to get my large frame/girth surfing behind my boat. I found the ISLE surfboard site, and went ahead and ordered one. The next tough job, was how am I going to rack this thing. Was thinking about all sorts of ways, and fabricating my dbot5 racks, or something different.
Well, I have been thinking about getting the dbot5 addons to my racks, which allow a 3rd wakesurf board per rack. If you notice the way they are made, they don't enclose on the board as far around as the other 2 slots. So my thought was, that maybe the long board would fit in the addon, even though it doesn't fit at all in the other slots.
Here is what the addon looks like out of the packaging.
Now the board in the rack, not quite all the way in, but that is because of the folded rack, boat is in the way.
I had my kids hold the tower up, about 80% up, but you get the idea. I think it looks pretty cool, can't wait to get it out on the water with the wax.
Here is the Jolly Bean Giant with his new board. Hopefully some pics riding soon.
Sorry about the poor pics, taken quickly with the iphone.
Here is a link to the minis at ISLE. One word of advice, order the bag WITH the board. I made the mistake not to, and just wrapped in a blanket, and already have a decent scratch in it. The bag WITH a leash, was only $60, which is cool, we can always take to the ocean if we want.

Here is my board when it got shipped.
The board is a mini longboard, which is 8 feet long and 22 inches wide, and like 3 inches thick. Should be enough to float me, and 9 or 10 ft just seemed like too much board to bring on a boat.
We did try to bring the board on without a rack, but it is so awkward, and I didn't have any wax on it, so I just let RJ try it. I will give a go when I get some wax.
So I put the racks on the boat, and tried it out, it fits GREAT! I am sure it would be better if the racks were wider, more stable, but we will see. I could always fab them wider.
It looks a bit funny, because my tower is folded in the warehouse. The addons are NOT chromed, just polished, so they don't quite match, but I guess I can live with that. If it REALLY bothers me, I can always have them chromed.
