    Tige on the Mosel

So I'm taking a tour of the Mosel and Rhein valleys with my family and guess what I saw?

We debated trying to flag the guy down and see if he would take my kids for a quick pull, but there was no place to pull over. How cool would that be to have this in the background?

I'm still trying to hook up with lui75 to see if we can get some pics of my son wakeboarding down one of the rivers here, but logistics may be an issue.

Cochem. It's on the Mosel valley. We did the stretch from Trier to Koblenz one day and the stretch from Koblenz to Rudesheim the next. You could easily spend an entire week in either valley along that route and if I do it again, it will be for a week on a bike. It's about 100km total end to end, but there's so much to see that you could probably only get about 15-20km a day in. I had to pass on all the wine tasting because we were driving, so that would be another reason to take the bike. The whole area is bike friendly and it's pretty flat along the river. I'm sure they have organized bike tours.

I've been here before, but it's always a special trip.

BTW, if you want more info, just PM me. There's a bunch of castles along the way where you can actually stay. They're all quite nice.

We were there at the end of March. It was quite a bit colder then and no one was on the Mosel

It was quite hot (80s and 90s). Made for some tough climbs.

That is nuts. My Mother's family all lives near the Rhein river and we visit them often. that is the last thing I would have expected to see. Maybe its someone from a local military base that couldn't live without their tige.
