    Coach,

How hard was it to install the FAE in your RZ2? did you mount on the swim platform?

    Do you have pictures?

Quiet and my wife stopped b!tching about exhaust, small price to pay IMHO........ Piece of mind is priceless.....especially when you have an anal retentive wife
Yes, I would say about $200 is my "pain threshold." In reality, this is an option. My boat is just fine right now and I don't know what I'm missing. $300 just seems like more than I want to part with voluntarily.

      That, and thier ugly.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

The install is very easy. About 1 1/2 hours total. You remove the swin platform and drill a hole in each side of the mounts of the swim platform and holes in the support bar. I just had my buddy hold the bar while I drilled though both then we put a bolt though that side and drilled the other side. After that it is installing the bolts. The last thing that is not included in the pics is cutting the excess bolt off and then grinding it. I will take some pics today and post them later so you can see it finished.

That looks sweet! Thanks for the pictures. How much did the kit cost you?

Would you recommend for the RZ2?

$408 shipped to my house in So Cal. Yes I would recommend it. I can't smell very well but can smell certain things. The exhaust is one of the things I could smell all the time no it is gone! Plus I love how quite it is now. You can talk to a boarder at 70 feet if you want to.

My neighbor who saw it on my boat ordered one right away. He is a MC guy but not Bug69 that is on here. He ordered it then called me to see how it!

Even with the converters its still not safe to be breathing the exhaust. Also the exhaust smells like chit, no kidding. You swim up to the swim platform and it smells like you just swam into a portopotty.

You sold me on it! Now I need to convince the boss (wife) to let me expend another $400 on the boat!

It was a much easier sell than the ballast for me. It became a safety issue and once she heard the boat and couldn't smell the exhaust she was all for it. As for the ballast she is giving me a hard time but I can deal with that.

I have. I've also done installs on both Teak and FB. Teak is easier.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

You don't see them when you're out boating. I have the polished FAE and I think that they look pretty cool when out of the water:

Too bad Zad can't get one for his Malibu. That darn wedge is in the way!!!

Earlier in this thread someone said "Cons, harder to remove swim platform". I got the quick disconnect option(see pic), problem solved. And Larry is working on a FAE for the Malibu, check out the link http://www.themalibucrew.com/forums/...=fresh+exhaust

I'm useless mechanically and even I managed to do it.

The toughest part was cutting the pipe and bolt down to size.

Picture of the final FAE installed on my Red 22i.
