Form i think you have some good questions but not enough backpressure is always a bad thing as well, but then again the motor is tuned for the amount they have with out it.

One thing I noticed on my boat with the new PCM engine, is that there is only one exhaust. My 2002 tige had two.

that way they only have to have one cat, if you had dual exits they would have to have two unless they had a crossover cat

Yikes! Does Larry know about this?

I wouldn't own a boat without an FAE. End of story.

Yuck!! Am I the only one who hates the look of the single exhaust? Maybe it's because I know that CC's are the ones with single exhaust..

Just put on my FAE and took it out for the first time this last week. It is a must. The boat is soooooo quite and no exhaust smell behind the boat while boarders are changing out. No exhaust smell when surfing. Being able to talk with the stereo on with out yelling! Just like Nicky I don't think I will own a boat with out one from this point on.

It's great isn't it Coach, even with the new PCM's converters, I would still concider the $300+ investment

If it was cheaper I'd get one.

                          Group buy!?
Cheaper? Really, what would be a reasonable price.....$200 perhaps? So $100 is going to sway you from purchasing an FAE. I've had it on my last two Tiges and would never consider not having it. Quiet and my wife stopped b!tching about exhaust, small price to pay IMHO........ Piece of mind is priceless.....especially when you have an anal retentive wife

We paid closer to $400 for the FAE and it has been the best upgrade yet. It's easy to forget what the boat used to sound like.

Last weekend, we were cruising across the lake at around 25 mph and we had 10 people on board...There were like 3 or 4 conversations going on and no yelling.

Previous to the FAE - at 25 mph, there was no talking - you had to really raise your voice to communicate.

IMO - the noise reduction alone is worth the $$

Anyone concerned about the movement of the swim platform with respect to the mounting/support of the FAE? My swim platform moves up and down slightly and I have wondered that since the FAE is attached to the swim platform, will the slight up and down movement of the platform eventually damage the FAE or the actual exhaust ports where they come through the transom? I have vision of the exhaust port being pulled a little at the transom and causing a leak over time...
