What do you tow your RZ4/24Ve with?

Just curious... if you have an RZ4 or a 24Ve, what do you tow with? Anyone tow with a "mid size" SUV (V8 4Runner, V8 PAthfinder, RRSport, Jeep GC, etc.) Just wondering if you can tow with something smaller than a full size SUV/Truck (I have an Armada now and LOVE it.. but wouldn't mind downsizing a bit if i pick up an RZ4 (which would be downsizing from my boat.)

Still leaning towards the RZ2.. but just curious. thx.

I tow my 24Ve with a 2002 Ford Expedition 5.4 Triton engine. Two wheel drive.

I tow with a '07.5 Chevy Duramax, my '03 Avalanche with the 5.3L in it struggled up here in Colorado so I went with something that could get the job done. I can't imagine trying to tow with one of the smaller utes, you would definitely be exceeding their capacity. A fully loaded RZ2 is in the ~6k-6,500lb range on the trailer.

05 Jeep GC w/ Hemi. I got a LOT of crap for it on here also, haha. The JGC is rated at 7200+ pound towing capacity, and my 24Ve does not really come close to that!! I saw a guy last week launching his 28' cabin cruiser behind the EXACT same truck as mine. Asked him how it towed and he said it pulled/stopped effortlessly. That boat had to weigh 5k+lbs easy......

Just depends on the distance you are towing, if you are only towing a few miles you would be fine but if you are traveling 40 miles on the highway that's a different story. And just because you can, doesn't mean you should! Just make sure you aren't exceeding the tow ratings because your insurance company is likely to laugh at you if something happens and you've gone over the max rating.

I think i will just stick with my Armada for now. and I think i have decided to stick with the RZ2... the RZ4s I have found are just too freaking expensive.

They are and IMO, probably more boat than you need. My 24Ve was way too much of a boat.

Are you going to buy the black RZ2 from Sport boats? Get some $$ off for the trailer wheels.

I tow my RZ4 with a full size Range Rover HSE, it actually tows really well considering how much it weighs combined with only 305hp. It has an air suspension, which is nice. Maybe I should have popped for the supercharged motor?

BTW, I've had a 22v, 24ve and my current RZ4. The length is awesome, it definitely isn't too big. Everyone says it's too big to justify paying less. If it's about the dough, then by the RZ2. They are both bad *** boats. The worst thing you can do is have regrets or stress about your decision. I personally love packing 12+ people on my boat, so the 24 works better for me. We packed people on the 22 as well.

FYI, the bow is only good for kids on both boats, it will dunk as soon as two medium size adults sit up there. The 24 flips around as effortlessly as the 22. The 24 is so easy my wife drives it 99.9% of the time - marina, docks, trailer.....

The same tow vehicle that works for a 22 will work for a 24. Your splitting hairs on the weight, they are both over 5,500 lbs with the trailer and gear. Most mid size SUV's tow at least 6-6500 lbs. If you ever go out to Havasu or Mead, you'll see guys towing 30+ ft boats with Jeeps, durangos, hummers... They tow way over the manufacturers ratings.

Get the RZ2 if you plan on having fewer people out on your boat and the lake is fairly calm. Get the RZ4 if you're on a rough lake or you plan on 8+ people joining you all the time.

Either way, only buy a Tige!

Get the largest one you can. You get one too small a few years later you will be kicking your self. Done that. The larger ones usually ride smoother.
