Spray pockets

I remeber back in the day someone actually glassed in the spray pockets completely removing them...

Why would you want to do this??? What is the advantage?

so the spary pockets are the chines at the sides???

why would you fill them in, wouldnt that change the ride???

Correct. I believe the 22/24v lines were essentially the same as the older 21/23v lines, except with spray pockets filled in as Tige went more towards wakeboarding. The rocker is supposed to be more pronounced, but I think the rocker was really redesigned for the Ve/RZ lines.

At least that was the way it was explained to me.

Hey form, do you have any pictures of your wake before and after? Apparently it made a big enough difference during you sea trials to go ahead and attach the permanent solution so I would think it makes a big difference??

How much weight can you add the boat before the spray pockets become an issue with washing out and rolling over? It was said before that this only happens when you start to add a lot of ballast weight.

Roger,The wash is related to speed and weight distribution.I run less than two thousand pounds and can see the wash.If any of you wakesurf look at the pocket next time your back there and at 11 mph you can see the bubbles coming from under the hull.I know some of you have slalom boats and spray pockets are a common usefull feature but on a 24 foot wakeboarding boat they become a hinderance.

soo... all this talk about spray pockets on pre 03. v drives is making me very nervous about buying a 2000 21v this weekend.... is it really a problem with the wake? b/c the whole reason why i'm buying a new boat is for wakeboarding...

Yes, there is more rocker in the Ve series that the V series boats. Then there is more of a rocker in the RZ series than in the Ve series.

I wouldn't let that stop you from purchasing the boat.

thats game glassing your hull up like that, what does that do to the resale?

IMO, it doesn't change the resale. If done correctly, the new buyer wouldn't even know it was done unless they knew a lot about the boat.
