    Spray pockets

As most of you know pre 03 tiges where built with spray pockets. Why tige would put a slalom ski feature on a 23V that is actually a 24 foot boat I don't have a clue. The fact remains that at speeds at or about wakeboarding this feature causes white wash to enter the top of the wake making it not so clean. After duck taping many foam molds in the spray pockets I came to the conclusion that any type of deflection had the same affect. There for I choose the smallest and least intrusive design I could.I tried to get action pics but my camera had too slow of a shutter speed.I purchased a video camera that I entend to use this weekend to give you guys a idea first hand.

Are you saying you just duck taped foam to fill your spray pockets??

Never mind... thanks for the pics. How'd it work out?

Correct I duck taped foam in my spray pockets and drove around the lake trying to figure out what worked best.

There was a thread in here about glassing them in for good, is that your final intention and this is just an experiment?

The tig welded 304 stainless fillers are the end result.I entend to leave them on my boat for the rest of its life.Glassing them in is just not realistic for someone with a clean low hour boat.

I would think that the stainless fillers is now causing the aft to rise similar to what the taps plate would be doing.

Correct but anyone with a 23v can tell you these boats need more taps.

Interesting - how are the fillers attached?

Surfdad I built these fillers to be installed on the trailor with three stainless screws. You can see the plugs covering the access holes. They could be built with more screws but after driving around the lake with ducktape I didn't feel there was that much force at work and I wanted the least amount of violation to the hull as possible.
