    The earth is a shaking.....

We just had a 5.6 earthquake here in SoCal (Chino Hills).

The are calling is a pre-shock to a bigger earthquake that we haven't had yet. How the heck do they know that

We've had about 12 aftershocks in the past hr.

25 aftershocks so far. All diminishing - good sign.
          Let it be!!!

Because they know that sometime in the future CA will have a large quake. What they don't know, and did not say, is when. That is the real test of being able to predict.

Not on the major fault which they say we are due. Something like 151 years of major stress building up.

So far they have not said the fault this one was on. It was 7 miles below the ground
              Let it be!!!

                    Earthquake

We got rattled pretty good all the way out here at the beach in San Clemente. The first shock was enough to get me up from my chair contemplating shelter. The second shock sent my secretary and myself hightailing it out of the creaky, leaky old 3 story wood office building to the parking lot.

The earthquake was written down to a 5.4. Plenty big enough for my tastes.

Ahh, the joys of living in California!!

I can't wait until my property in Utah is beach front!

I am glad that everyone is safe

Hang tough. I got thrown out of bed by the 1971 Sylmar quake. Our home survived that one and the Northridge quake that toppled the shopping center two blocks away. Folks who didn't have their gas water heaters strapped down were not so fortunate...

Thats the scary part, we are waaaaaaay over do on that fault.

                          On a side note

Last month we were at the river and my friend stops and looks at all of us and said we are going to have a earthquake sometime in the next 120 days. O course we all look a like he is crazy....

As I driving home my cell is dead I can't call out and no one was able to call me......Then ring....I pick up and it's him saying I told you so.

As soon as I get off the phone I try to use my cell and it's dead and it didn't work for the next 1/2 hr....

5.4, that's a baby quake! Wait until you ride out a 6.8-7.0 then we'll listen

Geologically impossible, but as the plates are moving along the San Andreas Fault as they have, Los Angeles will one day be a suburb of San Francisco on its way to being ground down under Alaska and remelted into magma in about 50,000 to 100,000 years!

Be sure to wave as it goes by!
