I hate how much the phrase "design FLAW" is used on here We all bought boats designed for a specific purpose, along with that, there will be curtain characteristics that we SHOULD take into account and understand.

Gas burping out when filling can happen on any boat...its a design characteristic, gas expanding and over flowing during storage is not a design flaw, its physics, go sue the oil companies for that design flaw or read your owner's manual and it will tell you to never fill the tank to 100%. Tige has the best hull out there, but its a design flaw that the Convex hull holds water in front of the gas tank.....the bilge had a plug, design "flaw" fixed. We want about with low-profile bows for better visibility and it's a design flaw when we power turn back through our own wakes and take on water.......learn to drive, design flaw fixed.

Sorry if my rant ruffled anyones feathers, but just needed to state my thoughts

Damn I thought this was going to be a real problem.

It was when the tank was filled in January for the winter then come March when it warmed up outside I was walking by the boat one day and smelled gas, looked up and it was pouring out the cap. I have never had that problem since because I fill the tank hit the lake for an hour then go home and store it for the year. This happened two years ago when I first bought the boat. At that time I wanted to replace the rail but was told not to worry about it that it would not get any worse and it has gotten way worse. It is weird what is going on with it. I just need to call Harvey when I remember I know TIGE will help where they can they are great about helping out where possible. I just need to quit being lazy.

My problem only occured once also. Ironically I had my boat in my driveway with the trailer jack raised all the way up to drain the water out of the bilge. With the gas tank being full this plugged the vent line there by allowing the tank to expand and drain gas out the fill tube. I never said this was a design flaw or wanted tige to fix the problem it caused. I was merely conveing and issue I went through.

I call those "features" and not design flaws...

Wait, wait, wait!!!!! I am going to fill your PM box. j/k

Why??? It is a real problem. Lethal did have a problem.

Oh great now I have to account for physical laws when designing something as simple as fuel storage. j/k

becasue I'm with razzman and mneal on this one. This doesn't seem like it is tige's fault. If it was there would be many more of us having this problem. How long have we been on here and never heard of this. There is obviously more to the story that he is telling us, one cannot hydrolock an engine simply by a little spash of water. I'm not saying that he does not have a problem becasue he does, I'm saying that tige does not have a problem.

In todays economy if you have an unsatisfied customer you have a problem.

balair, I totally agree with you. There is also more than one side to any story but that isn't saying that lethal didn't explain it untruthful. This will cost him $$$$ to repair and he is trying to take care of #1.. Himself and everyone else would do the same thing IMO.

I think he is upset about something that he could have avoided. Isn't a matter of blaming the design of the boat versus taking care of matters as the owner of a boat?

                        More fuel.

Have you ever done something really stupid before? How did you feel

Exactly, cut the guy some slack

IMO, it's a "feature" that was overlooked/ignored by PCM, Tige, and Lethal. But that doesn't explain why there was so much water in the hull. The bilge pump should have kicked on if there was that much water.

Why are we (as in humans or perhaps just Americans) go by the motto...

"find fault, assess blame, and it time permits, solve the problem"...

Is there a problem? Clearly yes. But why find blame vs. just looking for a fix. I am with you guys that check the bilge all the time. Mine is automatic, but I still hit the manual button sometimes just to get out the little bit of water that is in there. I don't think the direct drives have this same issue though.

I think you are right Fit. The air intake is on the top of the engine.
