An RZ isn't going to handle the chop like that thing! Beautiful boat BTW! I would roll that for sure if I wasn't into the wakesurfing thing (the ONLY reason we went with a v-drive).
That's what i hear. V-Drives are more difficult at slow speeds? Docking, etc?. My current boat has the Bravo III outdrive... so it spins 2 counter-rotating props... makes for great slow speed control. Like i said.. there is a lot ridding on our upcoming test drive of the RZ2. We will see how it compares.
It's going to be different for sure. Once you understand the handling of a v-drive, it comes easy. You just have to remember to provide a little power forward, then backwards, and forward to get into tight spots.
The other one I learned the hard way is never try to casually cross the surf wake of a X-45 with your wife sitting in the bow "sorry honey your soaked" (It was funny though)
Now that's a boat I would like to have when I grow out of my v-drive stage.
My wife would let me buy any boat that had a toilet
Funny you should say that... i often think the same thing. I am 34 and I love the Crownline... but i do miss my old boat which we basically just boarded on non stop. Maybe i want a v-drive to feel younger... who knows.
Oh.. and yes.. the wife loved the potty idea when we purchased the boat (I did not since i knew who would be cleaning it!).. but the truth is we really haven't used it... we either jump in or are close enough to a dock.
Hi all. Well we made our decision. After driving the Tige RZ2, MC X45, Centuion Enzo 240 and the Malibu Wakesetter 23LSV we finally have a new boat! I want to thank everyone on this forum for their advice and thought... more useful was the advice to "go drive lots of boats!" We learned that each boat was very different and they each had their own personality. We decided to pass on the 07 RZ2... the hour meter said 2.4 hours... but I am sure there was more history to the boat as it looked like it has been around the block a few times (plus we didn't like the color combo.) My dealer got in a new 09.. but wanted MSRP for it. We ended up finding a loaded 08 Malibu 23LSV that we fell in love with and on Friday we traded in our Crownline and went directly to the lake (we were boarding and surfing withing 15 min of picking up the boat) Thanks again for all the advice, emails, etc. We really liked the 09 Tige.. just a bit more cash that i was willing to part with. Hope to see you out on the lake! (I know.. 'bu is like the dark side for you guys.. sorry about that.) -cheers, greg
You'll enjoy it just as much I'm sure. They make a great boat. They're just like belly-buttons by me--EVERYBODY has them. Bus and X-stars are everywhere you turn.
Don't be a stranger. I have 4 posts over "there" and about 300 over here. Bottom line, both brands are awesome. Let me know how you like the new hull design. I have heard nothing but good things about it.
