Sounds like he is looking at an older RZ2. Wonder if they would fit an 09 platform on a 07 or a 08.

You know, we have only used the wakeboards once this summer, we are CONSTANTLY surfing. And we are experimenting more and really learning the best to weight our boat.

I bring this up because in the past, I have really thought about eventually moving up to an RZ4. Now, I don't think that's a good idea, since we now always have at least 1500 lbs of sacs plus people and gear in boat. We now load up the front ballast for our setup, and if you put to many people up there, even a regular wake can come over. The RZ4 would make this worse. So as a full time surf platform, I think I would stick with the Ve.

I do really like the RZ4, and love the new graphics, but the lower bow would be an issue.

Here is a photo of the 07 RZ2 we are looking at. Wish it was Red or had a colored hull. The 24Ve in the background is another option We really like the color of the 22Ve (not pictured) they have but the 22Ve is jsut too small.

And you don't like that? That is a sweet boat! I'm biased though, mine is black with a gray inside panel.

All good options. I drove the 22ve,24ve, and RZ2 whenI was deciding. Went with the 24ve because of the better rough water ride. It was noticeably different and I purposely tested on a windy day. And just am not a pickle fork fan.

I went the 24Ve route the first time also. However, the RZ2 wasn't out yet. When I went to the boat show in Sacramento in March, Tige and my dealer gave me a deal that I could not pass up. I have yet to see anyone get the deal that I got but maybe Matt did...

I have ruled out the RZ4 as well... the one i found was just too expensive. So i think it's back to the RZ2 vs. 24Ve vs. just keep the boat we have.

Well, that depends upon what you want and not an easy decision to make either. IMO, the RZ2 would be better but again, I already two of the three boats that you have mentioned. However, you are looking for a boat that works better in rough conditions. That would mean the 24Ve... Good luck.

My vote would be the Navy and Black 24ve.

Update: We are going to take the RZ2 for a test ride and see if we fall in love with how it feels on the water. If that doesn't work (and we want a bigger boat) then I might have to turn to Mastercraft. The local dealer is blowing out X-45's for $63K (and the best price i was quoted on an 08 RZ4 was a flipping $80K!!! (for a boat with 8 hours and being used as a demo! that's nuts for an 08! I can't justify almost $20K more for a RZ4 over a X45! (although i prefer the RZ4)

Buy the Mastercraft, but be warned:

If you go to Lake Washington You will take water over the bow.

                              Good luck!

Who locally has a RZ4 anyway?
