The 2008 weighs a little more and have cup holders in the transom area for those frosty cold ones. After that, there isn't a difference.

gregtay, I have no idea. We are thinking it's the fiberglass since Tige probably to re-enforced the hull after the first year of productions.

Why do you think the hull needed reenforcement?

We have been in the same boat lately (ha, ha). The ve or the rz, and then I decided to look at the options on each of the two that my dealer has and what we want for options and what I would want to add later or just get now.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

Will you be doing a lot of surfing? The 22 Ve has a little better surf wave due to the swim platform being a different shape. As an RZ2 owner I will tell you that if you get an RZ2 you won't regret the purchase. The extra room in the bow is absolutely worth it over a 22 Ve. If I was in the market for a 22 Ve right now, I personally would step up to a 24 Ve and buy da.bell's used 24 Ve, seriously!

I said that only because that is where they would put the fiberglass to increase the weight. Nothing wrong with the original RZ2's IMO.

Thanks guys. I think the 22Ve is out.. just too small for us. So it's between the RZ2, 24Ve, or maybe (although i don't want to spend the $$$) a RZ4. Anyone know what an 08 Rz4 would run these days?

                      IMO, about $68k to $72k

But I have a used 2006 24Ve for sale also.

If you compare your RZ2 vs. 24Ve... do they ride about the same? How about on rough water? (We boat on lake Washington about 50% of the time and it can get rough (that is why we have a 5000# 25' stern drive boat now!) I know there is no way a v-drive boat will handle the chop like my Crownline, but we know that going into this. I jsut want to make sure we can still make it across the lake and go out for dinner (places to dock and eat) without shaking the crap out of everyone.

I think the two biggest differences betweent he RZ2 and the 22Ve are:

                          Looks - No explanation needed

Interior room - The RZ will feel a lot bigger. 5-6 fit comfortably in the Ve with gear and everything else. The RZ will fit 6-8 comfortably.

I think every other difference will be negligable, unless a surf wake is important to you. Like Timmy said, the swim platform on the RZ will cut into the water.

I would definitely say the 24Ve handles the rough water much better than the RZ2. I have been on my local lake with the waves 2-3 feet high with some water coming over the bow. Yes, we had some scared little boys but we got back to safety and the sheriff asked us when we arrived at the dock how it handled. There were a ton of boats waiting to launch but didn't because of the conditions.

IMO, the RZ2 will out handle the 24Ve any day but the 24Ve will handle the rough water a lot better. The wake size is also the same if properly loaded.

                              Hey gregtay and KirklandTige,

If you want to pm me I will tell you what I paid for my 08 22ve, however I bought mine before the dealership change hands.

I do like the 22ve and the 24ve that Sport boats have but not real crazy about the black RZ.

That problem is supposed to be fixed on all 09's, I thought?
