Well there is definately more factors to fuel efficiency than what type of wake system you use. How often you use the boat, how fast you drive, what watersports you do, hull design, hull shape, boat length, boat weight, size of the engine, make of the engine, year of the engine. Lots of factors to contribute to how much fuel you use in a month. Just cause a boat uses a hydrofoil to pull the boat down doesnt mean it gets bad fuel efficiency.
Dont the malibu boats use ballast as well as the wedge?
In any case, the resistance of pulling the wedge through the water is a different principle than ballast. Assuming the hulls are at the same pitch, they are more or less pushing a similar amount of water. Pulling the wedge creates exact opposite drag.
BTW... setting up a rudimentary experiment on this would be relatively easy
Matercraft has the plate now too, called the attitude adjustment plate.
Sounds like something my dad used to hit me with.
Some of the punks that drive them need their attitude adjusted

Don't you mean fine upstanding women....with the optional ballast pacakge
we call those wake packers or WP's, kind of an inside joke since these kids with an x-star on our lake claim that their boat packs the wake really hard. kinda funy since water is not compressable, but whatever lol MC owners aren't always bright ones
The running joke we have is that anytime you see a fat chick on a boat, that guy has the optional ballast system. Really nothing to complain about. Hell its ballast
Reality is only an illusion that occurs due to a lack of alcohol.
