    Surfboard

OK, it's been 3 or 4 weeks since the whole family (with the exception of our 5 year old) got up on the surfboard sent to us from ragboy. We have purchased ballasts and a surf rope. We are only missing one thing, but I need some help deciding on which one. All of our wakeboards are Hyperlite, so I wouldn't mind sticking with the brand. We thought about the shorter broadcast, but would like any opinions. I would like something we could all use. The majority of our time will be spent wakeboarding, but I'm ready to get some srufing in, too
If you're lucky enough to live on the lake, you're lucky enough.

Don't go "pop out". The Inland Surfer 4 Skim would be my first choice. That or a Phase 5. Both are fast and stable and fit in a regular wakeboard rack. $.02

For what it's worth all our wakeboards & bindings are CWB yet our surfboards are Shred Stixx and Calibrated. The Broadcast is ok but there are much, much better surfboards out there. Sometimes brand loyalty is not the best thing for what you want.

Any opinions on the Ronix Caption (4'8", fish shape) or the Ronix Stage (5'4", "longboard" style)?

I was thinking of both to cover the full spectrum of styles. I really like Ronix for their ownership and business model.

I hear the Ronix board are horribly slow. Just what I heard.

Hey Razz, how's that Calibrated working out for you? I almost went that route instead of the Walzer.

I can't ride the blasted thing, too squirrely for me. The 160lbs and less crowd seem to love it though.

I own the Hyperlite Landlock and my buddy owns the broadcast. My kids like the landlock because it's so big and easy to get up on. It also cruises really well. It takes all the guesswork out of surfing.
I can get it to do some small board slides but to really get the air and that edgy feeling I need to use the broadcast. The broadcast is a bit quick for my kids to use though. Both are great boards and I'd stick with Hyperlite.
