I would love to be there, but with all that has been going on up here, not sure we are going to be able to make it.

My ballast is still manual, but I will be working on that this fall. I can't upgrade my boat anymore. When I first got it, I almost waited for an order for an RZ4, but I really liked the look of the Ve better. Thought, I can upgrade in 2 years. But now that I have done this, and that, its getting so perfect. I love tinkering, and working stuff out, getting it just right. I have done the same thing with my 2002 GMC Sierra. I love it, can't sell it now. They both just fit so perfect, and we keep them sexy.

Great to see your kids in helmets while riding. Not so exciting to see the kids riding after dark. Grown ups are able to assess the risk, kids just want to ride. I'm not gonna tell you how to raise your own, I just hate to see this kind of stuff being promoted...

          Wonderful pix by the way.

I am not trying to promote it. In the old days, I used to lake at mead, mojave, and the river. Doing something like this in a place like that, with anyone around, would be UNSAFE.

I keep my kids safe, and I felt there was little risk. When I say there was NO one out there, I am not exageratting. We passed a sail boat in the main body of water, start up our north fork, and did it. After that sail boat, there was not a soul on the water, not one. With the lake being so low, it was a weekday night, and the recent fires, we had it all to ourselves.

Add to that we have put about 600 hours on this lake, and that is time when the boat was ON, doesn't count the time we were just floating. We also know it well, even at night, without a moon, from camping, and the 11pm ride home after the fireworks every year.

Then add the fact that I have the same light setup on front, so could see RJ clear as a bell turning around to get him. Had my GPS going for safety. Had 3/4 tank of gas, my dad knew when we were due in, had 2 cell phones and my satellite phone on board and charged....

I think we made it as safe as we possibly could. I will tell you this, I KNOW it was safer than boarding during high noon on the weekend at many lakes, including our own.

I think it's fine personally. I know my regular lakes well enough I would not hesitate to do it myself. You're only going 10mph, what's the worst that can happen just because it's dark???

just my , not saying you're right or wrong
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Y, I wouldn't feel comfortable, even with all the precautions I took to wakeboard at 23 mph. Even if the lake was full.

Also, there is no more debris on the lake. A month ago, I wouldn't have done this either.
