    T-Bone & The NightRider

Our lake is low, but its like our own private lake, it is almost empty. Since it was great conditions, and almost empty, we tooled around most of the day surfing, and decided to really test my tower lights and setup....

First, as promised, we wanted to get Thomas (T-Bone), age 7, up. So RJ got in the water to help show him and keep him comfortable. I was preparing him all weekend and yesterday for this.

He fell a couple of times....

    But eventually he got up.

Now that he got up we pulled RJ in the boat...

He was able to help T from the swimstep and get him up so I could actually pull him in the wake.

He started getting the hang of it, and we coached him to get in the wake, he started slacking the rope well.

He even got to the point where he was willing to try without the rope, he stayed up for only 5 seconds. But I am sure next time, he will stay up longer.

Jesse decided she wanted to try by herself, but still not ready, so we let her sit and stand the board by herself for a bit.

Ash & Whit take a turn

As it was getting to sunset, ash & whit took a turn.

We have the music cranking, and this is how we signal FAST FORWARD, 2 taps on the helmet.

We also ran into this monster, check out the waterslide.

      Now for the NightRider

First, I must preface. There was no one out there, dead calm, and my lights are amazing. In case you haven't seen the other threads, here is a pic of the 6 55w halogens I have facing back, and there are 5 forward. Also, I had the GPS on my iphone 3G showing me the way, and this is my home lake, we know it and all of its hazards like I do my front yard. We navigate at night many times to sleep over, and on july 4th after the fireworks.

I switched on the backs, and it is amazing how much light they put out. Good enough for a night surf.

It was still a bit light out, but about 9pm.

Then it got later, and to keep up, the camera had to open the shutter longer, which made some interesting pictures, but RJ was lit up by the lights.

Now this one, was taken with my iphone. There is no flash on it or anything, gives you a good feel of what it was like out there, and how cool the lights were.

Last, we flicked on the front lights to navigate through the maze of houseboats in our marina, and empty docking buoys, they just lit up with the front lights. This boat, was like 50 yds away. Taken with iphone.

This one was much farther, about 100 yds away, and lit up.

And last, bringing the trailer in at 10:30 at night was a breeze.

Anyway, lots of fun. And the best part, we had the massive stereo cranking, with the rear lights blazed, and the amp kept up. It started to lose a bit of juice when we idled in the 5mph buoys. But as long as I kept the rpm over 1500, the meter read 13.8 V the new 150 amp alternator was no problem.

Here are a couple of screen shots of my iphone helping me guide the lake.

This one helped me get around a point, long before I could see it.

Nice pics. I've gotten so used to navigating my home lakes at night without lights, I lose my orientation when I have a light on. I do keep a Q-Beam on board just in case, but have never once used it.

That GPS is awesome. Just got Sprint to activate it on my phone but haven't tested it on the water with google maps.

Looks like you guys were having some fun and Jesse wants to grow up faster than she can. She is going to be better at wakesurfing and wakeboarding than any other of your children. Total guess but she has tons of potential and the desire to acheive...

GOOD GOD!!!!! That houseboat (more like an "apartment complexboat) is HUUUGE! Some folks just got too much $. That's the coolest slide I've ever seen on a boat
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I don't think my fat arse would fit in that slide, but it sure would be a blast to boogie down that thing......

Y, I had all the lights off up front to navigate. They don't help forward, just show you the water in front of you. But we have extensive knowledge of the lake, plus the GPS.

Y, there are some real big ones on oroville, but this had its own dock, and was massive.

One day, I will have to take the time to share the full story about Jesse, its pretty amazing. Help you understand why she works so hard.

When I swapped out my tower, I put on a samson sports Switchblade tower, which I LOVE. Those lights and speakers are options, and they way they are integrated, is top notch.

We were careful, and I am not kidding when I say the lake was empty.

When I first saw it, I was like, "Dude, thats a bit much." But when I realized that was a waterslide, and how it exited out the back, I was like, "OK, need to work a bit harder." :-)
