    LOTO cabins??

I am being forced to take a vacation in Aug. The wife and I were kicking around the idea of going to LOTO. Anyone recommend a cabin type place where we can leave the boat in the drink all week? Last thing I want to do is load and unload the boat everyday. We also don't really want to do the hotel thing--TV is the DEVIL on vacation, and if it's there it will get used.

    TIA!!
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I have only ever stayed at the military rec area, so I can't offer any suggestions unless you happen to be or are retired from the military. I have used this place to locate rentals before and seems like a pretty good database.

We are at LOZ every weekend. I would recommend you get something up the lake unless you want to be in the very busy area. I would suggest something on the Niangua arm, or something up lake like 30MM to 50MM. The vrbo.com suggestion is good. Here are some places that are on the quieter side:

http://www.vrbo.com/184050 - this rental is in the cove my in-laws have a cabin. Great cove for boarding, skiing, tubing-(only in the afternoon!!) During mid week you will have butter in this cove.

If you want a little resort place this is a great place: http://www.sunsetinnresort.com/

I hope you find something. If you want to talk further you can email me at akteamdoc@gmail.com.

Another hour and a half and you are on Table Rock. Just a thought! August is a great month to be here. less tourists and the locals (me ) have their kids getting ready to go back to school and such.

I actually thought of that cause I can stay free there, but the shootout is that week in LOTO and that's supposed to be quite a site to see. I also wanted to keep the kids away from TV, if it's there they'll beg to watch it until I get tired of hearing them.

Remember the shootout this year is at Captain Ron's at the 35MM. Here is an article:

If you havn't been to the shootout before i would make that the weekend to come down. It is alot of fun (even though they moved it to Cpt. Rons) it used to be right outside of my cove (shorty Pants). If you want to relax and have fun with watersports on the lake then do not come down the weekend of the shootout. Here is a site to check out some rentals... depends on how much you want to spend you can get a house for the week/end. i think staying near the bridge (19MM) may be busy but you can go anywhere from that area (by water or land) that is the heart of osage beach and the lake.

here is also a link to the different places and their MM
