Usually when you have temp issues like that, your impeller is toast. That would be unusual on a new boat, but if it was run while dry, it only takes a few seconds for the impeller to fry.

I have heard of the occasional defective fuel supply issue you've experienced. The problem is the entire fuel tank is fully assembled when Tige gets it. They are susceptible to damage during shipping, so maybe that's what happened. It's hard to say and I wouldn't want to speculate too much. The dealer is supposed to make sure the boat is ready to go and do a lake test with you.

Anyway, I'd call the new dealer as soon as possible and explain your situation. I'd also call Tige directly to see if they can help pave the way for you with the new dealer. I'd encourage you to establish a good relationship with the new dealer ASAP. My dealer takes really good care of me. It definitely has an impact on how I think of my boat.

Hawk I give you props for sticking with the boat through these problems and not dumping it for a MC or Malibu. I can't say how frustrated I would be at this point and do not think I would have stood for it at this point. I promise that Tiges are truly great boats. I put 60 hours on my new RZ4 this year without a problem and another member of this forum on my lake put way over 100 hrs on his RZ4, we both have the 400 hp engine. I'm thinking you may have your self a lemon, from MP, not Tige. Have you checked into your states lemon law? I know in Iowa if a vehicle continues to have the same issue over and over the dealer must replace it free of charge, either the engine or the whole boat. I'm not a lawyer haha, just quoting my B.Law professor who was a lawyer

Man, you do have some serious patience. I would have thrown a huge fit by now. I'd be willing to bet it's something minor that the tech keeps missing. Considering how many THOUSANDS of moving parts we all have on our boats, it's amazing they don't break more than they do.
For what it's worth, yours is the first issue like this I have ever read about on here (excluding d-bag, wakehavasu from long ago) so hang in there. Once you get the glitches out you'll get your well deserved "perma-grin." Just be thankful it wasn't used and out of warranty!!!
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I agree with a few people on this. I would call Tige directly. Did you ever get a PM or talk to Harvey @ Tige?

Thanks guys for all the feedback. I will try and contact Tige' directly and see if the new dealer would be willing to take a look and try and fix the problem.

I thought CHP might have said this but did not see him or anyone else say it so I will. You have a closed loop cooling system on that boat. Which means you have the 6.0L. So yes it uses Anti Freeze there is a coolant exchanger on the boat. This also means you have to have a COOLANT TEMP SENSOR on the boat feeding info back to the gage and computer. What it Sounds to me like is you have a bad coolant temp sensor that is not working correctly and when it senses any type of temperature it maxes out. This can be very easily over looked. What you need is a Scan tool or Diacom to look at that sensor when this event takes place. See what it is telling the computer. Then use a physical temp gage like a meat temp gage see photo. Confirm that the coolant is actually that temperature. If it is not then you have a sensor giving incorrect info to the computer or a computer that is faulty. Chances are it is a sensor. I get to see this all the time in the automotive world. It is one of the top over looked items and miss diagnosed items. Let me know how the test goes.

it could also be a thermostat stuck in the closed position

I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last nite so I cannot offer any useful diagnostic tools or tips. All I can say is I hope it gets resolved quickly

This really sucks. My first boat I had for 4 years and sold it with 40 hours on it cause it had all kinds of problems. The dealer tried to help but was frustrated like me. I used to have to hit the fuel pump with a hammer to get it to work (dealer's idea but it did work.)

I have know had my Tige for 4 summers of use and just crossed 300 hours with no problems. Call Tige directly, that new dealer didn't sell you the boat and may not have as much interest in helping as if they did.

That is why he needs both tools a scan tool and a temp prob so he can isolate all the systems. I would bet that it is a temp sensor though.
