First let me introduce myself, as I am new to the Tige members forum. I am happy to be aboard and will poest pics of the new tige very soon. Just bought the RZ4 and dealer came out to Lake Tapps (whci is where I live, in Seattle, WA) to deliver the boat and go over everything. Got it in the water and it started fine and ran fine. opened it up and was very pleased as the water was very choppy and the ride was smooth. Got in front of our dock to get ready to put it on the lift, when what sounded like the fule was getting charbled, or almost like it was running out of gas. It puffef on off for about 25 seconds and it than died. tried to get it started for about 5 minutes with no luck...It was turning over fine, but not firing up. coasted to the dock where the dealer tried almost for about 30 minutes before he gave up and called his Tige mechanic to come up. Dealer thought it was vapor lock, which we dont think was the case because we let it sit on the life for about 10 minutes and still no luck getting it started. When the mechanic got here, the changed the fuel pump and the fuel line and checked the filter. It fired up and they took it for a test run and it died again about 200 feet from our dock. They rowed the boat to the dock and tried again. They got it started again and opened the throttle up while in neutral. Mechanin had to leave and we figured mabye it was good to go. We got the family in the boat and off we went, everything seemed goo until about 10 minutes into it, it started to choke and putter like it couldnt get sufficient fuel. It died again and we had to have someone tow us back home.
Im definitely frusterated being that its a new boat, but I hope this isnt a sign of things to come. Paid good money for this and this is not the way I want to start off. Has anyone else everhave this happen to them? Any suggestions?
The tank is half full and we put the fuel stabilzer in this morning, but that didnt seem to do the trick. Any help or suggestions would be so much appreciated.
