Damn 12gph, your Tige sucks it down doesn't it....hehe. Yeah I missed that part. I just saw the part about don't fill your tank.

I figured alot of guys were like me, and do one last ride before winterizing. So then you gotta "fill er up" ... just not to the brim definately!

You probably are the kind of boat owner that changes your own oil, and does as much of the PM’s and repairs as possible.(like me) the others will take the boat in for a winterizing service, and fill the tank before then send it to storage.

I do the same as you, fill that tank, add stab, and then hit the lake for a few high speed laps. When I get it home I wash and wax it, then put it way for it winters nap. (Wife thinks me nuts to clean it before putting it away, as the first thing I do in the spring is clean it again LOL) but where I live, we stop boarding around thanksgiving, and start up again around Easter.
Tige, it's a way of life!

If you have the Marine Power engine, you should only run 87. Pretty sure the Merc will only need 87oct also.

I think we got a lemon on the new RZ4

Well to keep those who are interested in the brand new rz4 we purchased last week, it went from bad to worse. After 3 - 4 trips out to our aqua lift, the dealer and the mechanic werent able to fix the problem. Apparently, they needed to get some software program to update the computer chip. This morning, it was said to be successful on updating this tige's computer software. It started right up and ran great for about 40 minutes. I was so relieved to think that our worries were at an end when later this evening my father and mother decided to take a boat ride. It started up fine and as they backed it off the lift and began to go forward...it happened...again...it puttered and died...again. They couldnt get it started and it drifted a few docks down. After about 30 minutes we were able to safely bring it back to our lift. I think we may have a lemon here. Our family is fairly patient, but I think we are at our wits end here. This is not suppose to happen to a brand new owner of a Tige' boat. We called the dealer and told him of the dilema and think its time the boat go back.

I am not sure where we go from here. Does anyone know what the procedure is for when something likes this happens? At this point, I think the only thing that would make things all better were to be given another brand new RZ4. Any suggestions?

Someone said in an earlier post - bad gas, I think you got water in the gas Did you drive this very boat before buying? If so, did they give you a full tank upon delivery like most dealers do? If so, this is the only thing I can think of that has changed.

I dont think you got a lemon (legally or figuratively) I think you got a dealer that just has not put their finger on the problem.

                            Bad fuel

The tank did come 3/4 full. No, we didnt test drive the rz4...we test drove a 24 VE. I dont know why they have not emptied the fuel tank yet. I figured they would have tried that , but they havent yet. I may try that myself tonight. Could bad fuel really be the issue here?

Yes, water will settle in the bottom of the tank. As long as the boat sits and runs in a stationary position, the water may not be picked up by the fuel pick-up, but as soon as the boat is launched/moved, then the water sloshes around the the tank and drawn into the pick-up and then causing the symptom you describe.

As I have said before the boat you bought was used in February (along with mine ) at the demo days, I took mine home in May with no issues. Your boat has sat since but it seemed to run fine in february. My guess is it has to be fuel related.

I would also be frustrated if I was in you position, and it would not make me feel better that Ski Dog is no longer selling boats (what is their obligation to you now?) I would call Brady at Sport boat northwest and see if they can help since they are the new dealer.

Not to throw salt in the wound but the black and blue 24ve was a sweet looking boat.

Good luck and don't lose faith in Tige they are great boats, I sure am happy with mine.
