    22Ve vs. RZ2 wake

Figured this would be a good one to discuss. I'm just curious.... I hear people talk about the RZ2 and 22Ve handling different and having different wakes.

Why is this so, if they have the EXACT same hull/running surface and only 50 lbs difference? Or is it a perceived difference that doesn't really exist?

What my dealer had told me is that the RZ2 has a more curve on the ConvexV therefore giving a little bigger wake.

What he also told me is that the RZ2 gives about the same wake size as the 24Ve. I never being on a 24Ve so I can't tell for sure, but the wake on my RZ2 is bigger than my old 22V.

Yeah, DaBell had said that about the RZ2 and 24Ve also.

But from everything I've heard, the hulls are EXACTLY the same.

Well, they are not exactly the same. The RZ2 has the pickle fork in the front.

Perhaps the back hull is slightly different as well.

The pickle fork doesn't touch the water. Which is why I had also added "running surface"

The salesman at the dealership told that the hull of the RZ was different from the hull of the Ve's, perhaps it was just a sales pitch. Who told you that they are the same?

            Now I am all confused

We talked about it here a few times.

But I know we discussed it on more than one occasion on here.

Which is part of the reason I started this thread! So we could get to the bottom of it!!!

We need someone from Tige to clarify if the hulls are the same or different

Yep! .... I have a feeling Lee will chime in or chpthril.

One thing I would bet though, is when totally sacked out up front, the "pickles" on the RZ2 are actually in the water.

yes, it is a lot easier to get water in through the bow

@ Board Bonanza today. The RZ2 looked big and steep. One of the riders was complaining that it was too steep Me likey

That is good, most of the time all I hear is that it is too small. See you in the morning!

Okay, here is what I know directly from Lanny at Tige.

The hull of the 22Ve was used for the RZ2. From the hull, they increased the rocker of the hull a little bit more than the 22Ve making for a bigger wake.

Apply the same concept from the 22Ve/RZ2 to the 24Ve/RZ4.

Not sure but I would image that the RZ's performance would be better that it's Ve size model.
