I have a question, and pardon my ignorance. If I ever get caught out in something like that, is is possible to suck it up and just plow @ 10mph with taps on 7 and the bilge pump on, or is it pointless? If I can't get to the dock of course.
That's what I tried and the water just kept coming over the bow That's when the Tsunami pump saved the day! We had flip flops floating throughout the boat and that pump was able to help get the water out pretty fast! I recommend a bow cover that you can put on quickly (even though I don't have one yet) to slow the water from coming in.
I bought a tsunami after reading Timmy's post, for the same reason. It was $25 used, I figued it was Cheap insurance. Hopfully I'll never have to use it. (Knock on wood!!)
Didn't think that lake was that bad. I guess it was a freak storm that came threw. I've wanted to take my boat out there with some friends that live in Sparks but when I found out about the water was brackish, I decided it wasn't the best situation. How often do you go out there?
It was a quick storm that came threw. I have heard stories of storms up there. I even know of another 22i that went down there that was worse than mine.
The water is a salty but not real bad and nice and clear. I just flush out the engine real good after.
We go 2 to 3 times a season.
Oh yeah, I was not on the boat when it was going down. I was waiting in line with the trailer watching helplessly, my wife was on it.
She said she had a feeling it was time to go when the drivers seat started floating.
That just sux dude sorry to hear, good luck and I hope it works out.

I'm sorry you are living it too. However on the bright side if your insurance comes through for you, this may be an excellent time to upgrade as it is such a buyers market.
The Pyramid lake in California? Sorry to hear about this. On a lighter note when you get your new one do it with out a stereo and put your own in.
