    Yes.....that stretch of road is where we start getting extremely excited and
    really haul'n butt. Gotta slow down and get there (and home) in one piece.
    Major wake up call for sure. Terrible loss for the family.

    Sounds like they were towing too much for sure.

    Last month was the first time I have seen Highway Patrol on that road and I have been going there for 10 years. After this, I would suspect that you will see more of them for sure.

      Bummer. We use two tow vehicles all the time, but I understand the frustration on long trips. This is one of the reasons we moved to a place next to a lake. We lived in SoCal, and constantly towing through the desert to the river/mead, or up north to shasta or wherever. You get impatient, and you don't like the slower speeds of trailering when used to driving 90 on those roads. I am embarrassed to say how often I did 80 towing through the desert passing people up.

      I live 9 miles from the lake now, and cruise it at about 40mph. If it is at all possible, I highly recommend it.
