I like the look of the new display.. and I like the fact that the TAPS gauge and speedset are all in the same location.. especially for surfing.

If the new speedset has "memory" do you think that the TAPS will be part of the memory also? That would be sweet if it remembered what TAPS setting different riders like as well as speed.

Also the fuel gauge "looks" cool. If it actually works well then it will be very cool. It would be nice to have an accurate reading and the "70%" makes me think that maybe they figured it out..

If its anything like the Malibu one, which it looks like it is, the TAPS will be part of the memory. As far as the fuel guage, the digital and analog guage both read the same, and isnt anymore reliable.

You have to realize that in any boat the fuel guage will NEVER be reliable.

I was wondering the same thing.. but to be perfectly honest.. after going out on a buddy's '07 MC X-15 with the factory ballast gauges I MUCH PREFER the way Tigé has done it.

The MC fills and drains the ballast through the bottom of the hull so the only time you have water spitting out the side is when the ballast is full. There is no way to tell if you are actually emptying the ballast or if your pumps are vapor locked. You just have to switch the pumps to empty, and look at the gauges to see if they are dropping. But they don't always work so it's hard to tell if they are working. Not to mention that I have never seen all 3 gauges on EMPTY or on FULL. They are always somewhere in between despite the fact that the ballast is totally full or totally empty. My buddy doesn't even use the gauges. He just stops the fill pumps when it spits out the side and then for emptying, he just flips the pumps to empty and drives around until the gauges look like they are going down a little.

The guages seem like they have just as many problems as the fuel gauges, if not more. My buddy never goes by his gauges anymore.. they are just there for looks I guess..

so CP3 I guess in short I hope that Tigé doesn't add the ballast guages unlesss they really do work. They (the MC ones) are more of a false sense of hope.

the thing with the gauges is sometimes it is nice if you only want to fill your tank halfway. without a gauge you have to guess at it.

I have never wanted to half fill my ballast. My motto is 'Go big or....not'

It sounds like from what Matt, the dealer in Vegas says, the in floor ballast is not yet ready for prime time. They are going to go through all of the safety issues with having a 3-4 inch gate valve that opens right into the hull. So guages are not going to be in the picture for a little while yet anyway. I understood that they are still working with a Calabria style ballast system and haven't got it put together yet.

Correct! The in floor ballast is a go, but not the Pure Vert Vert system that just fills the inside of the boat up with water.

As for guages, these probably won't be seen until 2011.
