    Trip Report - Sacramento

My wife and I bought a Tige, 2000 21V, last August, but this 4th of July week was our first long distance trip. We left SoCal June 29th for Roseville, just outside of Sacramento, and things didn’t start real well as I noticed a flat on my trailer during my walk around. Damn Carlisle’s, luckily I had a spare with a new Goodyear. The boat and trailer rode like a dream over the Grapevine and 7-1/2 hours later we were in Roseville. I had been reading about Folsom being low, so I decided to hit a spot on the Sacramento River that I used to visit when I lived in Sacramento. We launched at the Elkhorn ramp, the Sacramento airport exit off I-5, and we saw exactly one other boat all day. The river was butter, the tree’s on the riverbank were perfectly reflected. I got into my slalom ski first and I had so much fun cutting up that glassy water that everyone on the boat could hear me whooping and hollering. The next day was just as good and we saw one boat all day, except for right near the ramp. We went again on Wednesday and saw five boats, but the conditions were still spectacular. Except for some smoke in the air those three days were perfection. My boat came with an extra Acme 515 prop which I installed right before our trip and the performance improvement over the 4 blade prop that was on there was unbelievable. Performance was better on the hole shot and top end speed was also much improved.

      Welcome to the river.

Was out on the river on Saturday and looked like the same conditions. It was so smooth that I didn't even hear my board going threw the water. The only thing I could hear was the boat and the cars driving along side the river.

        Wow! Beautiful water!

Is the new prop a 3 blade and the old one a 4 blade? What model was the 4 blade?

          WOW! Thanks for sharing.

Glad you had a good trip. That is an impressive ski wake. Especially because it a v-drive. What was the boat speed and line length?

At least he made the most of it. My lazy @$$ crew wasted glass like that every morning during our 4 day weekend.

On the bright side, I didn't have to listen to their whining and got to enjoy my coffee overlooking all that glass.

BTW, great pics! Conditions like that make me want to go until I hurt myself.

The new Acme 515 is a 3 blade prop. The old one is a 4 blade, but I'm going to have to look at it. As far as the speed and line length, my wife was driving, but I'm guessing she was doing 30 mph and the line length was approximately 60'. We're spending another week up in NoCal in August at Discovery Bay. I can't wait.

A good place on the river is south of Sac at Wimpy's Marina and then head to the locks and the meadows. Great water and few boats. I have been hitting every weekend for the past two months and have not had a bad time. It is not as crazy as it gets up in Sac.

This picture was taken after boarding for 3 hours. It was around 10 AM and one wakeboard boat passed us. We were inching along towards downtown. Not exactly glass but it was still very nice.
