    Lake McConaughy trip pics

We went to Lake McConaughy for the 4th and had a pretty good time! The water is a lot lower than the last time I was there (1996 ) but the lake is still 12 miles long.

The sand is just crazy there, got stuck as soon as I parked my truck on what I thought was some hard pack sand but it wasn't. We were camping in an area called "The North Shore".

The water was pretty nice, we were able to find some calm water up near the dam on the first day and on the second day right in front of our campsite.

Here's a couple of pictures of the boats/tow rigs we went with:

Nice, looks like you had a great time. Man with a group that large with those boats, you could invest in your own tractor.

I thought I saw your boat at Navajo, but this post answers that question. FYI, someone copied your look.

I think Bill has ordered in at least one RZ2 and definitely an RZ4 that are the same colors as mine.

We didn't need a tractor, we all did fine on the "boat ramps". I only heard of 1 truck getting stuck on the ramps and it was a Super Duty with a lift on it. My buddy got his big Super Duty stuck in the sand, that was kind of funny but not really. 40" tall tires buried are no fun!

The 27' Eliminator Daytona did 105 on GPS with 5 people in it. I guess they are hoping to get it closer to 110~115 after they are finished tuning it for our altitude. It's got 1,000 hp motor in it ( I think it's possibly a 588 with a big blower).
