My 20i is paid for......amd I would have to finance some of an upgrade.....what are your thoughts? Well, I bought my 1999 last year and have put over 50 hours on it since August of last year. As cool as the new boats are, we are not professional wakeboarders, skiers or surfers so our boat runs just great for us. In fact it is still more boat than we probably "need". Sure I might upgrade the stereo, get PerfectPass, or something else, but at the end of the day it does an awesome job. And it is still a really cool boat. Not flashy, but awesome.

I do like just paying for gas... not for the boat!

Are there any upgrades you would like on your existing boat?

      What would your payments be?

I do like just paying for gas also. I am on the lake every day I am not working and could really use the room of a v-drive. I just put a new stereo in and I would love to add perfect pass.....but would also like to have ballast. The problem on my 20i is there is nowhere to put it. I hate walking over sacs and filling and draining them. Also, if we get too many people in the boat the wake is really washy and we have to ride pretty fast to clean it up. This really sucks because I usually have a lot of people....or wind up not including people because I don't want the wake to suck. I really love my boat but I am interested in something that has a bit more.

Sounds like you need a new boat. Most of the things you mentioned would be difficult to improve on with the size of your boat. The new 09 models are supposed to have the ballast built into the floor.

Upgrade would be in your best interest. The two issues that you have is the want for ballast and the need for more people to be on your boat. With today's economy, I would say no, don't look or upgrade until it gets better out there, but you own your current boat so that does help out.

With todays economy it really does'nt matter what kind of deals you can find because what ever percentage off you get on the boat you buy you will most likely have to knock that off your trade, mostly it is a wash or you come out backwards from a good economy because a dealer most likley bought the boat you would buy a while back and especially if it was used they may have offered to much for it when the economy was good and not knowing where it is going they want to be into yours for as little as possible. If you are buying straight out and can sell your own boat then you may be ok but good luck ont he sale, people are not spending money like they were. Also having a boat paid for is very nice, things are tight everywhere right now and one less payment would be great for me, but if your have the cash its up to you, your cash, your choice.
