So he contacted marine power about getting the motor replaced. I think that my dealer is one of the best around and he is doing everything he can for me. He is telling me that marine power wants him to pull the motor out and send it to them. Then after they tear it down they will either rebuild it and send it back or send a new one. Which puts me with out a boat for a month. This is the part that has me pissed off, I have family coming in from 500 miles away for the 4th of july weekend and now we cant go to the lake. And if I dont have my boat back by the 22nd for my lake powell trip then all **** will break loose. Matt my dealer is trying to get marine power to step up and send a motor now so that i am only down for a week or two.
I really love my boat, but I am ready for all the problems to be fixed, so that I can get back on the lake and enjoy it. I have had computer issues with the boat for about a year now. Matt has done everything he can to fix these issues, but now it is time for marine power or tige to step up and get this thing fixed.Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

If they can't get the engine done before the Powell trip I would be asking for them to cover rental fees and tell them you can't get your money back on the trip.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

If my boat is new and something fails causing me significant time loss (all the while i'm still making lean/insurance payments) on a fairly limited season (roughly 3 months), I'm just shi* out of luck?
If the boat is not new and/or not properly maintained, I would never expect anyone to do anything other than following protocol for repairs. It would be a situation of tough luck and unfortunate timing.
Let me give you an example. My boat took on water yet again this weekend and i had 10 people that had traveled to spend the day on the lake with me that had to stand around for 2 hours while I attempted to resolve the issue. During the time I was trying to isolate the problem (second problem in 2 weeks), I was trying to get a hold of my dealer for advice. Because it was Sunday, i couldn't get a hold of him (not his fault). So I called a contact of mine who used to sell Tige boats (sold me my current boat) and now works at another dealership. He OFFERED to bring me a boat to use for the day and i'm not even their customer! Now it wasn't needed because the problem was isolated and repaired, but that isn't the point.

I kept having problems with my baja (the one i got tired of fixing and traded it for my tige) and twice, once on the 4th of july and then again later in the month mau marine from okoboji let me use another baja because they felt bad. One time they even stayed an extra hour to meet me to make sure i got everthing hooked up and could find the boat to use, thats customer service, i let customers borrow a car if one they bought from me broke, now a boat should be even more important because the majority of our boats are worth more than the vehicle we pull it with and dont get a 10th of the use, anytime down during my short season in mn sucks.
