The issue that MP has is that their manufacturing plant has all the electronics to properly test the compression and anything else that they want. The can give a complete look at the engine at that time.

I am not trying to be negative and I can count my blessings that I currently have two boats to choose from. My first outing in the RZ2 caused my MAP sensor to either go bad or it was bad from the beginning. Some members have suggested alternatives that should be looked into. Tige should step in when it comes to renting another boat and putting it on someone elses tab.

After reading everybody's posts this is the bottom line. MP is willing to fix the problem and that is a blessing in itself. When I bought my Tige in Dec. of 99 it ran great for a couple of months and then I had a major fuel issue. It took several trips to the dealer and even a special trip from Jeff and Andrew from Tige to remedy the problem. This took a few months . However, in the end Tige and Mercruiser both stood behind the product and got it fixed. Sometimes life just doesn't go as planned. Dude, you have a Tige. You are very fortunate already.

We will have 10 or 11, do you have any connections in St. George, that might be able to hook you up with a boat for that trip. How about Dave's wife's Parents Neighbors? Yea I know that sounds stupid, so to put it another way, Connies parents have neighbors who are tige owners as well, I wonder if that would be an option.

I can see the predicament of this situation. I would think any dealer with a demo boat already on the lot would be perfectly happy to go the extra mile to take care of a good customer. Lets face it I think we are in the higher level of customers if we show up here in this forum to discuss our boats as they are pretty important to us. We are likely in the boating market for a while and will likely buy another boat sooner than later.

I know that it is the tough or chance times that I look at the dealer that takes care of me by paying it forward I will reward with my patronage later on even if I were leaning towards another brand of boat I would stay with a dealer who had stepped up above the call of duty for me. Let alone of all the good things I would have to tell people about the dealer. (Guess it goes for the other side as well on the bad stories)

I guess it just depends on how much a dealer values the customer. Of course all of this depends on availability of a Demo boat. Most of our dealers around my parts have these on hand and are usually out riding behind them after the shop closes anyways.

He has the same dealer that I do and he is one of the best IMO.

So does he have a demo boat on his lot?

shake - are you seeing major performance problems? If not, would it be possible for you to keep your boat as-is for the next 4 weeks (if not 8) to get you through your vacation, and/or the bulk of the summer? I don't know how bad this would be for the motor, but it's an idea.

Probably not, just like everybody else; he has reduced any excess inventory that he has had. With the relatively quick turnaround for a new boat, he is having them made as they are ordered with very little inventory on his lot. This is just an assumption on my part, but giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I do know that the last time that I was there, he didn't have any excess inventory.

Didn't he keep that black and pacific blue RZ2 with the Evolution tower? It was one of the first RZ's made and he was using it for a demo boat for a while.

The more I think about it, if one is available, letting Shake take a demo boat is not necessarily that bad of an idea...but then what do you let prospective buyers demo? If he has a demo boat available, it will only be one or at the most 2 boats.

Matt said that if he has anything to with it my boat will be back before lake powell. This just sucks though, this is my third weekend in a row without my boat, I am going through major withdrawals.

this situation has to be frustrating. Hopefully the dealer come thru. Most of them are great.

This looks like a very old thread. Did this get resolved? TALL remember what I told you about MP here is the proof.
