    Speakers went out

    Tige Stereo Gods

I have a '03 21i with a standard stereo. I have 2 speakers in the front, and 4 in the back. While out on the water last weekend, the 4 rear speakers went out. The 2 in the front still work.

Here are the things I tried while on the water
-unplugged wiring from back of stereo
    -adjusted fade
    -tugged on loose wires

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Is the green light on on the amplifier in the storage area? If no green check circuit breakers and fuses for amp. If Red or Yellow lights on amp there has been a amp failure and you might need to get amp repaired on get a replacement from ebay especially if it is a Kicker amp.

What head unit do you have. Some clarion decks you need to change a setting to have the rear outputs work. This is true if you have disconnected your baterries recently

I think I may have the answer

I've been searching the site, and I found this on another thread. This seems very similar to the problem I'm having. Additionally, I unhook the battery terminals everytime we leave the boat. We only get to use it every other weekend.

I'm going to try this Thursday morning before we hit the water.

        What do you guys think?

If you have the Clarion XMD3 you might try the following.
My stereo had a similar problem until I did this. I was a little aprehensive at first because I wanted the speakers to work not the SUB. Guess what it did work for the speakers.

        Setting the low pass filter
This function allows you to set the low pass filter for sub woofer output.
The factory default setting is lfp 120
        1. press and hold the T button for 1 second or longer to switch to the adjustment selection display.
        2. press the << or >> button and select SW LPF
        3. press the ^ or V button to setting changes as following order
        LPF 120 <-> LPF 80 <-> LPF 50 <-> REAR
        SET THIS TO REAR.
        4. Press the T button to return to the previous mode.

You shouldn't need to unhook the batteries unless you're storing it for months at a time.

            Stereo

Thanks, that may help my Stereo situation. What do you think about trying to adjust those settings? Do you think that is what happened?

If not, where would I find the fuse box?

            Thanks,
            Chuck

I think that could have happened. I have to set mine almost every weekend. If not I lose a set of speakers. It will hold in memory for a few days when I turn my battery switch off. Anything over a week I need to set the outputs to rear again

If that does not fix it your head unit might have gone bad. How many amps and what models are they?

                stereo

I've actually made a mistake, I've got an XMD1 not XMD3. I found a site that has archived manuals, and when I saw the 3 I realized it wasn't the same as mine. The XMD1 looks the same.

Now that brings me back to square 1 because there is no LPF on the XMD1 that I can tell.

                Thanks,
                Chuck
