Eh don't worry bout him. I'm busting his balls right now about Bu's seats just for the hell of it.

Well true in a sense but the reality is that we can shape our wake to the weight and speed of the boat. Others cant. This is the sole reason I have a tige. Put ballast in another boat and travel at 20 mph and the wake washes, so you have to speed up. What if the rider does not want faster? I like to ride at 20.5 and I can make the wake monstrous with out wash. This would not be possible with out taps.
Excellent post. The one thing I LOVE about the TAPS is that I can control the wash and/or lip of the wake at pretty much any speed. Thats a BIG FAT WINNER! On a side note, my 22V porpoised like crazy above 30mph with TAPS anywhere above 2. The 24Ve does not porpoise much if at all that I have noticed.......

What do some of the other manufacturers trim plates and wedges do? I would assume they could get bowrise from it and slightly lower the stern but not to the same degree as Tige.

To name a couple MC,BU and Supras have trim plates although Bu has named theirs a wedge operated manualy or for more $$$ from the dash.

Obviously they are trying to do part of what Tige does but I am sure not to the same degree.

The wedge is a totally different concept, and works in a totally different way.

Supra's trim plate works in the exact same way as tige's. They're hull is based around it as well.... but for some reason they don't get bashed.

As for the others.... they don't do much at all really. Pretty much there for marketing

              Who wakeboards at 38mph?

Yes the TAPS raised causes purpoising. Due to the design of the hull. Its not designed to set water speed record, its supposed to work in conjunction with the taps at watersports speed to adjust the wake.

Nautiques water gate thing ive heard it really nice for trick skiing.

Tiges are not exactly slow either especially for a multi sport boat. With stock prop and trimmed out for max speed my 20V will hit 45-46 mph with 3 people and 3 labs and a small dachshund. I can live with that especially since I cruise around 30 mph. It is just nice to know not every bass boat will pass me on way in at dusk

Actually 99.9% of true Bass Boats will kill us but I was thinking of the Bass boats the resorts rent. Now that would be embarrasing

With the minature dachshund aboard you'll never notice. You burn her weight in gas within a few minutes. Now 292lbs+ of labs is another thing. Tessa 120+,Molly 102,and Tanna 70 will work as a small amount of ballast.

He typically argues with pretty much anyone he can, so he is an equal opportunity idiot.

My boat will porpoise at 25 MPH if you have just the right chop on the water. Because the bottom of the boat is rounded (convex, just like a parenthesis around these words), then when the weight is evenly distributed front to back, you get a teeter totter effect. My boat will not porpoise at any speed if the lake is completetely flat, but throw in a few waves and it will start to rock, unless I put a little TAPS into it.

The genius of Tige's TAPS is one concept I would go to the death about on WW. The only people who argue about it are retards who cannot think and have not experienced it.

Supra and Tige share some roots, Charlie broke off from them and formed Tige, as I understand it.

Maybe we could use the dachshund as a trim plate?

Nah, she wouldn't disperse any water. Now if we use of of my bigger female labs........................it might do the trick and turn dogs boat into a submarine.

With gas prices where they are, I rarely go above 30 mph... Seems like gph goes way up over 30 mph.
                                Let it be!!!
