    Opinions on upgrades

I've got a little extra cash and want to do a few things to the boat...I'm hoping to get opinions on where I'll get the best bang for the buck.

    1. New Prop - we do a bunch of wakeboarding/surfing and it can get a little tricky with 8-10 ppl on the boat or pulling a heavy person up. I'm assuming a new ACME would help this quite a bit. Will I see any gas mileage improvements?

    2. Fuel flow meter - I'm worried about where to put the gauge and have it look professional

    3. Ballast - we can't really surf unless we have close to a full boat

    4. Upgrade the HU on the stereo - M475 would work w/ existing remotes (I think) and would be an easy way to get MP3/IPOD ability

The FAE is on order, so out of the above 4 items - any thoughts on what you would do next?

2 Best thing ever, mine is within 1 gal in 40gal
3 more is always better (almost)
1 extra? depends on how remote you are (puller-key-hammer-wrench-lift)
4 Can't stand to listen to others music

Thanks - for the prop, I'm not worried about having an extra and ~$450 is a 1bunch of coin to swap out something that isnt broken - so I'm trying to figure out if I will notice it / feel it to the tune of +400 bucks

New prop was the best thing I did for my boat. The more I surfed, the more weight I put in and the more the boat struggled. The new prop made it feel like a whole new boat. It was like bolting on an extra 100hp.

If you get ballast, you're going to need the prop anyways. You might as well start there and use fat friends until you afford to replace them. Collect gas money from them and put it aside for the ballast. They'll never know they are buying themselves off of your boat.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I'd do the prop first. NICKYPOO's right. It is like getting more HP on your boat. It'll save gas too because you won't be cavitating as much.

Then I'd get ballast, tunes and the fuel flow meter.

            First upgrade done!

We put the FAE on last night (only one trip to Home Depot!)- it kicks arse to be able to talk while cruising across the lake. The stereo now rules!

A pair of 400 lbs fat sacs and an ACME 653 prop are next on the list.

Thank you to everyone on this board - it just rules to have so many knowledgable Tige Owners on tap.

We put the boat on the water one year ago today - it had 150 hours...I checked the hours last night and it read 349 Not bad!

Nice to see someone actually using their boat

Holly Crap! 200 hours this year. Do you commute to work in your boat? That is awesome you can use your boat that much. I would think that a prop is always first in order especially if you can get more out of your boat.

Given that we don't surf, so only kneeboarding, wakeboarding and skiing, does the sound reduction of FAE make that big of a difference? From the FAE website it seems like it does or would.

It makes a big difference for the boarder too. It is like a $300 upgrade to your tower speakers. If you don't care to listen to music when riding, then don't do it if you don't surf.

Am I the only one that likes the sound of the exhaust? Then again I am a huge motor head.
